@SoggyBasil4 This type of posts are tricks tbh. And they aren't intentioned to bring value to others, rather they are for oneself. Reasons for posting: 
 1. Makes you post consistently, so your account's activity goes up. More people will discover you one way or another. 
 2. As you are posting on a public platform, it tricks your brain into taking accountability, thus you actually strive to complete whatever goal you had started. Although most people quit sometime after. 
 3. If you mention the relevant skills, it also helps bringing recruiters on your profile, might help in getting jobs.

Recently I completed 100daysofCode, I have completed the SDE sheet, made 2 mini projects (React), and also, Arsh Goyal #6companies30days challenge.

Here are some steps you need to follow

- Set a Goal: You can run for like 5 days but for 100 days you need a goal, for me, it was internship preparation.

- Make a Plan: If you play like doing a lot on the first days then you will feel demotivated and not continue the same on the next days. So try to go at the same pace.

- Follow a Path: For me, it was solving the Striver SDE sheet, for the next 100daysofCode, it will be making projects and accessing the interviews.

- Find a Peer: When I start coding, I thought a peer will only waste my time, but if the person has the same mindset as you, your growth will be exponential. 

- Learn in public: This is another way you can grab many opportunities, when I started, many people reached out to me and that reach help me connect to people who are doing amazing in their field.

- Follow people who are doing 100daysofCode: one more reason, which motivated me to code every day. 

- Maintain a Thread of your Journey: it looks childish, but when I used to swipe down from day 1 to the last days, feels like wow, I have done a lot, only some left.

- Personal tips: I used to tweet about the previous day in the morning, and it makes me feel I have a great job the last day and can do more today.

What to do in exams?
Just trying to solve a little problem, I also had exams, and for that days, I coded less but code.

How to Ace #100DaysOfCode

Currently I am in my second year from a Tier 3 college. On campus placements at my college for the 2024 batch is really worse. Few companies are hiring for sales roles etc. and most of them are putting tough eligibility criteria and hiring only few.

To be very honest, I have no hopes from on campus placements. I am going for the off campus route.
What should I do to get a decent intern in third year/fourth year and a decent job by the time of graduation?

Talking about my progress, I am doing DSA, taking part in contests in Codechef, Codeforces, and Leetcode. 
Besides that I have started learning Machine Learning. Have done only the Math part and basics though still now. Been to 2 offline hackathons.

Spoke to someone in Grapevine through DMs 2 months ago about increasing pay. They helped me with the following roadmap but in more detail.
Got offer from two competing startups in AI. 

28L-Fixed is the best offer I got. Previous CTC: 7L (Fixed)
Current YOE: 1Y

Here was my strategy:

1. Improved functional python knowledge via Leetcode and Codeforces. 
2. Learnt more about Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Redis, Django and React. Not in-depth but functional enough to build proof of concepts.
3. Understanding intuitively rather rote-learning concepts like: OS, Computer Networkls, DBMS, OOPs(Read everything around them using MIT OCW).
4. Data Structures and Algorithms: String Manipulation, Arrays, Linked Lists, Stacks, Queues, HashMaps, Trees, Graphs, and Heaps.
5. Mock Interviews with my friends in the end.

[Guide] How I got a 300% pay hike switching from Accenture

Hello community,

This post is for getting guidance/opinion on the role switch from support role to development role. I really need help from fellow colleagues and exp professionals to proceed further.

So, I had 2.5 years of experience in SAP domain and recently I have switched internally (within the org) to the software engineering team that has complete back end work to do for a foreign client. Tech-stack is Java 17, Eclipse Jersey, MySQL, MongoDB, Azure Cloud and some other technologies too.

Parallelly I have been a part of an online platform for software engineering courses (eg. Bosscoder etc), where I learnt DSA, spring boot, HTML, CSS and JavaScript with React framework. The front end engg. part is not covered yet, but a part of the curriculum.

Now my doubt is, I am planning to work for some months here and in my resume, stretch the starting time of the SWE role,  to shadow down the SAP experience. Like 4-5 months experience shown as a year or so. Tell me if it can be a good strategy to reduce barriers of not having experience to join SDE roles in prod-based MNCs. (I know, that I will have to showcase deserving skills, based on experience, in the next company to get an offer, but still!)

Secondly, can the backend framework (Jersey) become a barrier to the job switch to java spring boot roles. Some people told me that experience matters and not the frameworks. I need ur opinions.

Lastly, I am recruited as a Senior software engineer, I will have to prove my worth not just to other companies, but  internally within the team. How can I learn more in less time, to equalise the skills with the job role, not 100% but even 60-70% would work. Where to start, what to take care?!

Student right now need help

- 🗣 Before anything else, communication skills are the most important. Helps with building your brand in your org. Even code is a part of the ways you communicate.
- 🌟 If possible and if available, pick up role models in your office whom you feel are really good at dealing with people and learn from them
- 📖 Basics are a MUST. I regret not taking Networks, OS, Databases seriously in college. They are Hella interesting. I'm learning about them out of interest but struggle to manage time.  Dsa is not the only thing about software engineering. 
- 👨‍💻 Take up tough challenges. Trust me people have achieved so much recognition and growth in just 1-2 years by taking up the most difficult tasks at hand

My Learnings as a Software Engineer 1 year into corporate

So hello Everyone , 
A short intro , i am a 2023 grad , fumbled a 32 lpa SDE job in last round in college placement . I was among the last 2 out of 500 students and the other guy got selected or you can say i run out of luck.🙂
This left a scar ,guilt and trauma, however got placed as a cloud engineer during last week of my college.

I always wanted to do development and create stuffs . 
My current role is more of a support so now I want to switch .
Yoe :1 year 2 months 
Salary:9 lpa (7.5 base)
Fully remote 

i had solved around 220+ questions on leetcode and had a good grip on DSA but it’s been a year since i solved any questions there.
So now i will again start coding and solving leetcode from STRIVER A to Z dsa course and working on harkirat 0-100 development projects.


I aim to make myself interview ready at the end of week 5 while keeping my current job and then look for interviews during my notice period.
I am ready to take a leap of faith and grind hard .

I will keep updating on every Sunday about number of questions and development projects i worked on .
Hope it motivates you all to improve and get better at life .

I am going to use this  sub to record my weekly improvements .
 
I am open to any suggestions by my people here .

Week 0 : Aim to improve technically and have Career growth

Hi, I am 28 YO currently working in a non-tech role. In few next years I completely want to switch to tech role (preferably SDE) for myriads of reasons but number one being my logical skills and and my love for creation. 
How should I start working on my skills? 
Currently I am in a foreign language profile and I have heard from my friends in UK that being bilingual really helps people in tech field. 
Please suggest ways for getting the degree or skills or both.
