A lot. 
 Sister suffers severe psychological ssues. 
 Has been known since 4 years. Can't leave her alone. Trying to get her up on her feet has been a challenge since such people are not that socially acceptable. 
 We've had to juggle cities just so that someone is there to tend to her.  
 It drains the life out of your life. 
 Such things definitely affect professional life as you can't give 100% to your work when your mentally stuck at your home.

All over LinkedIn when I see people thanking their mentors, I wonder where they get them.
I mean I hardly had any interactions with any of my college seniors. And don't get me started on my office colleagues. ( They always seem to be in a bad mood).
Coming to the point. I think having honest mentors can really help you fast track your developer career.
Let's try to help each other out.
I am a backend developer of 2 years. I can help you get 20 LPA.
I want someone who can help me earn 30 LPA.

In a world full of competition, where surving has turned out to be a struggle for the basic, I've often found myself reflecting on my own journey. Coming from a modest background, raised by misogynistic parents who never taught self reliance or drive to pursue a career, I grew up in a small town and attended an average college. My class, lacked ambition due to limited opportunities known. Unlike Tier 1!

I was always curious person eager to know things and with no mentors to shape me at the right times in my life I faced the world alone. I took up various jobs, uncertain of my path, until fate led me to a product management role in a startup in the southern part of India. Suddenly, life became full of promise. For 3 years, I dedicated myself in a fast paced environment building products, understanding users, and empathizing with their pain points. It was the first time I felt content and fulfilled in something I was doing with life; something I knew how to reach.

Sadly, the toxic environment in that company forced me to leave, and I ended up joining a larger company for the sake of financial stability during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic. But something was missing—I lacked the drive and speed work once had. So, I made the bold decision to quit and take a break, yearning to return to building remarkable products and feeling whole again💙

My story may not be extraordinary, but it raises questions about the biased and unfair nature of hiring practices that fail to consider the unique journeys and circumstances of individuals. Opportunities are often granted to the privileged, allowing them and their descendants to progress at a faster pace, while those who are underserved are left behind in a generational race.

If you are hiring, always remember people are much more than the one pager resume or numbers in it. Give chance and take bets on people no matter. It might just be one other hire for you, but it changes many lives!

Being a basic PM

I remember making 7000/month and spending all of it on travelling by Uber everyday because my dad didn't let me use the car and the Summer heat was making me melt. I needed an AC so I instantly blew almost 4000 rupees/month on just Ubers. With the rest I went to a nice restaurant with my mom+dad for lunch and it is my most memorable moment in life. I felt like I had grown up.

The internship was also nice and I learnt a lot of things about building systems for a startup. It was one of the best 8 weeks I had spent learning something new and cool. 

I bet I used to look like Shinchan in this picture when I was in the office and seeing 40 year olds talking to 20 year olds like they were their buddies.

I was about to call them uncle hahaha.

I have “hustled” (whatever that means, most times I feel like a fraud) my way to a 60 LPA (no ESOPs and non engineering background) after 5 years. I’ve also realised that the job market has become pretty flat and degrees (ofc there are exceptions) don’t really matter once you have a foot in the door in the “ecosystem”.

However, I feel considerably lost (more existential maybe) and have been contemplating an MBA abroad for quite sometime. BUT, I don’t want to take money from my parents and I don’t want to exhaust my savings on one degree. 

I’m not thoroughly “excited” about networking or just partying for two years and don’t feel very strongly about moving abroad either. 

I think a foreign MBA just feels like an escape at the moment. However, I don’t know how it’ll solve anything to be honest, since I’ll still have to deal with the larger questions around purpose, what I stand for etc etc.

Any thoughts?

Started working in 2017 (Graduation: Tier 2 College)  in hand salary: 28K per Month. Worked for 2.5yrs, had big dreams, didn’t knew what to do, how do I 10x my salary, saw my manager 40yrs old earning 25LPA in the same company. Realised I don’t want to do this for the next 20yrs and the reach at 25LPA. Started preparing for UPSC (wanted to make it big) realised within 6 months, this is not my cup of tea, appeared for MBA entrance, cleared the exam joined Tier 1 MBA, post MBA: 25LPA + XX Esops in next two years at 1.2Cr CTC inc ESOPs. 

Before 2030 plan to achieve FIRE with 8Cr networth. By 2040 make it 100Cr and retire. Chill at beach with beer in hand and two other friends.

I started a side business. These fuckers can have their promotions. I work for the salary now. I don't contribute beyond the basic limit.  It's liberating. I don't even laugh at the stupid jokes at meeting.
