Does anyone even read what we write in performance review?
Just wondering if the things we write in bi-annual or annual review against objectives or in general - is read by anyone? I have been told in the past that no one bothers reading it as long as manager is clear about your work. Maybe if you’re up for promotion then it’s possible that the things u wrote are read. Although peer feedback + manager feedback (verbal) takes more precedence. So is this writing down just part of evidence collection?

The feedback is shit.. whatever you write the percentage has been already been decided.
I have seen my manager hasn't read any of the peer reviews! Feedbacks is given based on his perception of my work and my visibility. Even the compensation is based on it. Peer reviews don't mean jack shit!
Ya those feedback are another unnecessary procedural burden. I am curious if even performance reviews are ignored or what

So i work for a performance review based software (global) and based on the insights people do take that seriously specially for the large scale comapny
I am not sure who are the people you refer to. It might be like the global leadership people who get to view it with some analysis or numbers. Someone high up the chain may get it personally reviewed by them but otherwise it feels waste of time

Nobody reads them. Probably some managers skim through. But it’s all merely a formality, for the sake of maintaining records.
