Does your company document & maintain API? If yes, How?

Do you guys love making a documentation. It can be of many things like tech spec, prd, one pagers and many more. Is there any tool which makes this process easy for developers? I gets frustrated while making docs. AI doesn't help much as it doesn't know many things related to our company projects. And it's illegal to put info on chatgpt as it can leak that info.

Hey Hey People. I've been in PM-ship for 4 years, and I have been jumping (unfortunately) from one sinking ship to another. Since Startups started going belly up, I've been switching but not able to keep up with the absolute abuse of 14-16 hour workdays including weekends. I am looking for some guidance or advice on how to switch to a "safer" company in which I can stay and build my career for the next 3-4 years. I've almost run through the gauntlet of 3 companies in the last two years and feel absolutely burnt to a crisp. Whether it be policies, workplace politics ( main reason for quitting the last 2 orgs) or culture, I am simply not able to go through the wringer. I want to switch to a place where I can do Product + Analytics but have a safer moat of a learning curve. Most startups lack any documentation or training and it's very disastrous when shit hits the fans because no one has any idea or documentation on what works. Pile up abusive micromanagement and valour thievery into the equation as well. I'm simply burnt out to death and I feel this shit hitting me in my skull every living second. I want to be in a place where I am able to perform and learn more (not breakneck) stable pace.

No, I'm not talking about the job market. That's dog shit -- barely any vacancies, and engineers earn 25%ish more. However, in a world with 10x better Co-Pilots and other GenAI tools, problem identification is going to be every employee's moat. 'Tech-Enabled' Business PMs will have the brightest futures. There's already a rise in PM-led vs Eng-led startups. This will become clearer 5-10 years down the line. Also, supply-demand is not as skewed as you think. Everyone thinks this job is easy, and hence, a bunch of folks are aspiring PMs on LinkedIn. I believe quality PMs are still rare (personally have a long way to go). Would love to hear more. I'm young in my career and maybe naive but this is what I feel.

The job market has dried up for senior product roles. Do you think the situation will improve soon? What's your overall outlook of product management as a career beyond 10 years? Do you see yourself doing this for another decade? Asking mostly from a supply and demand point of view. Also, has seen that the role is becoming more and more vague and replaceable. Context: Leading a 6 membered product team in a series B funded company. Managing the ceo/cpo opinion differences, moving to wfo from remote, high work pressure and too much reporting. I have been working with series A, series B companies throughout my career.

Question is more towards understanding of a developer. May be at SDK or developer tools. Would love to understand on what can be built around SDK or developer tools.

I'm interested in backend development.... previously I've tried my hands on frontend dev and I was not cut for it. I've experience with Django and Fastapi. I'm looking for articles and tips on how they develop the backend solutions for the big companies? Like the structure and all the fuss associated with it. Please help......

I’m curious about the working style of difterent companies operating at different levels. Do engineers ever directly talk to business or just product? Does the product give a detailed PRD covering all possible scenarios or a one pager? Are PRDs still a thing ? How long does the review cycle last? How strictly are estimates adhered to? How frequently do the requirements change during the dev cycle? Who owns the quality of outcome ?

Are there any tools available in the market that aid product managers in writing better documentation and achieving quicker turnaround times in the delivery of a BRD? Apart from Google Docs !
