Double MBA

Has anyone here done double MBA? I am currently thinking of doing another MBA(outside India). Did my MBA from top 15 Bschools in India 10 years back. Reason: Honestly want to move out of India.

Few of my friends did it.

One thing I would suggest, if your goal is to just move out of India , consider a 1 year course instead of 2 year MBA.

Acquaintance have done 1 year course in BI and analytics, project management, engineering management, international business.

One common theme, if you are moving to developed country, be ready to start at junior level. For example, a senior manager in India had to join as an assistant manager (2 level down) post the degree. From managing 10 people to being IC.

Can you pls let me know the experience band they were in and kind of roles they were having in India?

Why MBA then? Do any STEM postgrad 1y course which can help get placed? I am also curious about other avenues which would help to move abroad with higher ROI.

One thing for sure, MBA pedagogy outside India is better than even IIMs. Personal experience as an exchange student. Thoroughly enjoyed the interactions.

It will totally deviate from business management. Not sure, how I would even be able to do the essays and justify. That would be pretty damn hard. Do you know someone who might have done that?

3-4 friends. Most batchmates after MBA are into analytics roles only.

Various actually. If I remember correctly

  1. 4 year work ex , project management
  2. 3 year work ex. , product manager
  3. 5 year work ex. , marketing manager
  4. 12 year work ex. , team lead IT

May be my experience is anecdotal.

Got it. Thanks for the info. This is helpful.

Another way is to apply for PR. And with PR apply for jobs instead of going for a degree.

You can apply for PR for many countries instead of going for a degree + immigration. Check your eligibility.

I feel the process is quite lengthy, and not sure how long it might take for getting a job post PR.

Are you willing to shell 1cr for an MBA abroad. Even post all scholarships one of my friends had to spare 60L for a Duke MBA in 2018.

That would depend on which college I get and what would be the ROI after finishing college.
