I have always dreamt of playing an electric guitar on stage. I started to learn guitar in late 2020 and it's been 1.5 years since I stopped playing it do to multiple reasons like bad time management, upskilling for switching, work etc.

I always wanted to work in companies not directed towards IT such as Mercedes Benz, Philips, Samsung,  Siemens, Ather etc and work in areas where UI/UX design overlaps with physical product design. Physical product design is my first love and will continue to be so as that field still fascinates me. Not everyone is privileged enough to pursue their passions and might have to work in certain areas where they are partially interested and pay is good coz, hey! We gotta pay bills.

I wanted to learn multiple languages and was learning German a couple of years ago. Again, due to the reasons listed above, I had to drop out. I want to travel abroad for work, work in multi cultural teams etc.

I always wanted to run marathons and reach the top of Nandi Hills (a hill on the outskirts of Bangalore) by cycling because I was once a obese kid and wanted to prove myself wrong. Now, I have to loose 13 kilos and I'm on working on it. But I sometimes wonder if I can do these things as I had so much to work on.

I was pretty good in sketching. In fact, I was pretty good once upon a time in my design school. Now, I barely sketch. I don't want to loose that part of me who use to sketch day and night. I want to have an Instagram page with all the digital illustrations I wanted to make.

We live in times where one has to consistently switch jobs, upskill everyday, spend time with family and friends (not that I don't want to, but I also love my personal time), take care of aging parents, take care of kids, take care of household, travel to work, get enough sleep for 6-7 hours a day- basically be an adult.

I sometimes wonder if life is nothing but a graveyard of dreams. I understand that one can't do everything in life and sacrifice is inevitable in life.

Folks who are 30 y/o and above, do you still have dreams or are following your dreams while responsibilities pile up in life?

I feel I've wasted years of my life in being inconsistent in whatever I take up. I've been working out for approx. 4 years of my life but have been super inconsistent in going to the gym, and sticking to my diet. I'm in the physique that I was around 4 years ago. All the inconsistent effort I had put in these 4 years has gave me nothing. I've wasted thousands on supplements, personal trainers, gym subscriptions and in the end, I'm back to square one.

The same goes to my hobbies. Been trying to learn an instrument and have been inconsistent with my classes.
In the end, I've wasted my money on time on the classes. Have also bought 2 instruments and both the instruments are just gathering dust.

Enrolled myself to a foreign language class and I failed to complete the classes- it's because of my pathetic time management skills & the inability to be inconsistent in practicing and working on the assignments,

Upskilling- LOL! I have no idea how many thousands I have spend on courses and I'm sure I haven't completed ONE- at least ONE course. Reason- pathetic time management skills & inability to focus on course. I am extremely impatient, I get distracted easily and I fail to complete the given tasks. 

I'm married, I'm a 30 years old obese guy and I'm earning just 15 LPA. Not that I'm dumb coz I believe I have some intelligence in me but I feel I'm doomed for life if I continue to be like this.

I realised that the key to overcoming these issues is being consistent in whatever I pick up. But i fail to be inconsistent in whatever i pick up. I've also realised that I have pathetic will power. I lack will power to an extent that if given a change to fight for my life or just die, I would prefer just dying as it would take less effort compared to fighting back to live.

How can I work on my will power and save my ass from getting fucked by life? I am already suffering due to my actions and lack of actions & I feel it's high time for me to stop continuing to be the way I am.

How can I stay consistent in whatever I take up? Be it upskilling, fitness or even hobbies?

I think we’re probably the last generation who watched animated shows on TV as kids, as now the new trend is of “iPad” babies who watch content online?

We started discussing about how the channel you used to watch as a kid tells you so much about that person.

Like kids that watch Nickelodeon were so different than the kids who used to watch Disney. And the Cartoon Network kids were unhinged. 👀

Man, I don’t know how old is this audience but we used to have shows like Avatar-The Last Airbender, Kochikame, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon. 

And much before that Oswald, Noddy, Dexter’s Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls etc.

What is your favourite animated show from back in the day? Would love to hear some stories.
