Personally, Antifragile by Nassim Nicholas Taleb and Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.

The concept of Antifragility, where systems and individuals not only withstand chaos but actually benefit from it, had reshaped my perspective on risk, resilience, and adaptability. It is extremely complementary to the writings of Marcus Aurelius but differing in key ways.

While both Antifragility and Stoicism encourage resilience in the face of adversity, they approach it differently. Stoicism emphasizes inner calm and acceptance of what cannot be changed, while Antifragility encourages actively seeking out challenges and volatility to grow stronger. 

For me, the blend of these philosophies provides a more holistic approach to navigating life's uncertainties, combining the wisdom of the ancient Stoics with a proactive stance toward embracing chaos and harnessing it for personal growth.

What’s the one book that had a significant impact on your life, and what did you learn from it?

I believe a tool/gadget/book we interact with when we are below 10, impacts and shapes our mindset for growth. 

For me, it was a science projects book I got from my cousin, it had basic and advanced projects, which increased my interest in science/physics/chemistry.

Was having a conversation with my SO today.

I think we’re probably the last generation who watched animated shows on TV as kids, as now the new trend is of “iPad” babies who watch content online?

We started discussing about how the channel you used to watch as a kid tells you so much about that person.

Like kids that watch Nickelodeon were so different than the kids who used to watch Disney. And the Cartoon Network kids were unhinged. 👀

Man, I don’t know how old is this audience but we used to have shows like Avatar-The Last Airbender, Kochikame, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon. 

And much before that Oswald, Noddy, Dexter’s Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls etc.

What is your favourite animated show from back in the day? Would love to hear some stories.

I'll go first: Mine's from Winston Churchill, though I first encountered it in a biography I read - ""Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.""

This quote hit me like a ton of bricks. It completely reframed how I view setbacks and challenges. Instead of seeing failures as endpoints, I now see them as stepping stones. It's not about avoiding failure, it's about maintaining your drive and passion through the ups and downs.

What book or movie quote unexpectedly became your personal mantra?

I'll go first.
   My favourite anime has been Naruto till date.
I watched Naruto when I was in 11th std based on recommendation from my friend. I was hooked to it within 1st 5 episodes.
    Naruto has been the anime that truly affected me and I could internalize and idolize the life. Naruto's journey and all characters journey through life was so realistic, it showed real emotions.  
   The music by Toshiro Masuda across the series has been the highlight! I have literally cried with specific music being played during emotional scenes. 
   Naruto has taught me things like -
1. Don't back out from doing hard things
2. Have self belief, don't give in to what people believe you can do
3. Always and Always push yourself
4. Suffer through failures and humiliations by having positive perspective towards life
5. Life is so much better even with sheer will power and hardwork. (Rock Lee is an amazing character who gained respect of people)

what did you do which changed your personality completely or a lot compared to your past, It could be anything related to your physical looks, mental, personal etc.

for me it was gym & meditation. I used to be very skinny and now you won't be able to recognise my past photos.

What's one quote  from a move or a book that changed your life forever?

Title is self explanatory. You could mention anything from fiction, non fiction, course books (try to avoid pls🫢). Anything that you would remember for a long time! 

Starting with mine -

1) Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (Fiction; Helped me during a particularly difficult phase in life)
2) Braving the Wilderness (Non fiction)
3) Harry Potter Series (I read the books recently, after watching the movies some 10 times. Just the imagination of the author is inspiring)
4) Murder of Roger Ackroyd (Fiction; best Agatha Christie novel ever)
5) Norwegian Wood (Fiction)

When I was in my last year of high school I started watching the Naruto series. This one the darkest time in my life. I was an average student doing my computer science course in a Govt school. All of the family members excluding my mom and teachers in my school label me as a failure. I don't have good scores in exams like my cousins and how much I try I always make silly mistakes and lose some points in exams.

I started to think that I was a failure at that time. One of my friends suggested this series and has been a failure student and lost interest in studies.

Naruto was the series that gave me the push I needed it made me feel like a failure like me can be successful if I put in constant effort and have the resolve to do it. For me, Naruto, the Might guy changed my life.  

I didn't get a good score on the final year exam of high school but I didn't lose myself and still put in the effort.

And yeah finally all these efforts started to show up in my college years. 

Today I am earning more than my dad or any of my cousins or uncles and everyone looks up to me as a genius kid.

I don't have hatred toward any of my family members and teachers because now I realize they didn't know the world.

I still watch Naruto when ever I lose motivation to go forward.
