Datascience, the rate of data growth is exploding every year, next decade you will have robo and bio data added new frontier. 
  
 Bullish on long term

But considering the fact that everyone is getting into data science nowadays and more supply will lead to more jobs getting sacked. Whereas in a field like finance which is more niche and less people can  get into as it either requires a MBA degree or CFA etc whose proportion will still be less than data science learners which is more easy to comprehend due to multiple online courses. So don’t you think finance career will be more rewarding?

Don't worry about macro. Focus on building your moat. Finance as field is getting automated at a very fast rate too,  
  
 Check Navi Mutual fund cost vs other fund house. Zerodha and jio will be leveraging datascience to keep finance cost low. 
 These days CA is also relying on tools to find Refunds etc.  
  
 I see that if you can code and adapt then you can survive the next 1-2 decades. Rest of repeatative things now have the potential to get automated.

I'm a 28-year-old guy currently employed as a data scientist at a Fortune 500 company, earning a respectable annual salary of 24 lakhs. Lately, I've been contemplating pursuing an MBA, but I haven't initiated my GMAT preparation yet. I'm wondering if it's a wise move to transition my career in this direction. I've heard that individuals with a tech background who graduate from IIM/ISB might need to begin their careers anew, typically with a salary in the range of 27 to 28 lakhs. Can you confirm if this is accurate?

Both pro-cons i'm seeing currently is:

Data science:
~ future technology
~ more interesting & diverse work 
Downside: so much competition as every college now opening new AI ML dept
& Because of low entry criteria anyone can jump to this field little interest or few online courses

Data Engineer:
~ Entry point is bit tough as Specific technology knowledge req which is generally not being taught in colleges,
Hence less competition 
Downside: Identical & boring tasks mostly

Although I am aware that management consulting is little bit hectic and demand long working hours but still which can be good during initial years of career and keeping in mind the long term goals and promising outcomes🤔🤔🤔

I ak literally unable to decide between product management and management consulting, i am i last year of my college , i want to build a great career ahead.  layoffs and recession is going on, i talked to product managers and they say it's not that much glamourous as folks on LinkedIn present it and even  you are in a startup  , devlopers first build the core then role of PM comes into play . I talked to few management consultants as well they say WLB is not that great but it's okayish most of the times . I am literally confused, i know the grass is always greener on other side but my long terms goals are money and growth in my early to late 20s and upto early 30s  , the priorities might be change after that.

Guys please help me out to choose better as I have still some months left so I can upskill myself accordingly also it would be great if you could present the future scopes ,growth and ROI in both the fields with the boom of AI.
I am open to suggestions :)

I have 2.5 years of experience on CCM technologies(primarily OpenText Exstream) but am not satisfied with it as it's not open source, I am not able to learn it from anywhere on the internet in free hours or while on bench and the project work is the same repetitive type of work.

So thinking of switching in the DevOps or Data analytics domain. But not able to fix which one to choose.

Considering the automation threat from AI analytics roles might get fewer and salaries are not that much high in analytics. What are your views on this? Do you think analytics will be the most impacted field because of AI?

If anyone had changed from analytics to de/ds, how difficult to change?

Business Analyst

I have seen from the place I work at that growth (in terms of monetory benefits and opportunities) is much better for SDE folks than Data Science people.

1. For freshers it's easy to learn to write css and get complete responsibility of a task henceforth on completion getting more recognition and praise than in Data Science. Good tasks are almost never given directly to freshers due to steep learning curve in the field hence leading to lower growth rate.

2. SDE folks generally have tasks divided into sprints which make them a lot more easily trackable and appreciable at reviews, whereas in DS at least at the place I have worked tasks are given haphazardly and almost never account to much while reviews.

3. Another observation is that folks who have worked for about 3-4 years in SDE profiles have now become team leads whereas DS folks have not been promoted at the same pace 

Looking at all this, in my opinion data science folks are treated as second class citizens as compared to sde folks.

All this might not be true for all the firms, and I want to know if anyone else has some views on this.

I'm frustrated!
