Finally I have started therapy

thank you for the support on my last post( https://share.gvine.app/UPfUks6ks55jLbpB8 ) i went to a therapist after that and she made me realize that i have a ton of unresolved childhood trauma which makes me think that earning money will make me feel in control when in fact i still am brutally traumatized by events in the past. i really liked watching american psycho, and have often related to the mind of patrick bateman. i can only wish that i don't turn out like him. My history with work, wealth and women has always been deranged. my work attracts my wealth and it then attracts women. but inside I am hollow. hollow like i live in an empty shell with no conscience. life is good and so is 2024. over and out.

I am working as a senior product manager in a fintech startup. I am under a lot of stress due to work pressure, continuous badgering from business and tech stakeholders and loneliness. I always think of going home but staying in stressful job mainly because I don't want to be jobless. I can only post my views here anonymously because I don't want to be seen as loser. Request members if they can provide their suggestions. PS : As far as my profile is concerned it's B tech + MBA from tier 1 college and 3 years of tech experience followed by 7 yrs into Product Management and living alone in Bangalore.

Hey guys, Waa going through some severe anxiety issues which always leads me into negative thinking spiral and some past issues. Could you guys recommend me a therapist which you feel has been extremely helpful for you? I would prefer only online mode for sessions.

I am sorry my first post was supposed to be an achievement or CTC /salary but will surely come back one fine day with it too. Anyways, I'm just trying to ask: what helps you? In your deepest, darkest of times, when nothing is working? Forget antidepressants for a second! Besides those medicines, what are some things that make you less depressed? The reason why I'm asking is that I am depressed. I was diagnosed by a professional. Meds I don't like because they end up making me feel a) more depressed b) not at all myself; c) give me other terrible side effects Took therapy, antidepressants and what not for insomnia still don't have the right way to handle. I just wanted new ideas, nevertheless, in hopes of finding something that may actually do something. If you ever have been in depression and insomniac please comment thereby creating a "safe space" Can't we ? For saving one life. Apologies for the long post but sometimes I just have to say it

THE POSITIVE SIDE: Sometimes you kinda eventually develop a soft corner for your therapist (especially if they belong to the opposite gender) due to the following pivotal reasons: 1. They are perhaps the only person you have who "listens" to you and helps you de-tanglenhour thoughts 2. Their tone is pacifying and welcoming. 3. Sometimes when you are venting out, you logical side of the brain takes the back seat and your emotions take over. During such conditions, you end up trusting someone if they are listening to you with an active interest. BUT BUT BUT ! THE APPARENT DARK SIDE: 1. They do all the sweet talk for money. While it may seem like a hard pill to swollow, its just like any other medical profession like cardiologist or radiologist, who wouldnt even look at you if you dont have money. 2. They will obviously judge you and talk about you to their close colleagues or intimate friends. 3. They would want you to BE SAD so that they can get paid. Infact my therapist once clearly said that we only take 20% accountability for everything when I was thanking her (indirectly hinting that if something goes wrong its on me and if something goes right its also on me) Thanks to my therapist I dont even trust my shadow anymore.

Been thinking to going to therapist but not sure it actually will be helpful. Please share your experience. Also, please suggest good therapists around Mahadevpura, Marathahalli, Whitefield

Hi, I'm looking for a genuine and a very good therapist in Bangalore - Hennur, Kalyan Nagar, Hebbal and adjourning areas. Been feeling depressed with all the things happening around me, work, personal, social, everything (more towards the personal side). Feel like I'm just hanging by a thread right now. I should have gone to a therapist sooner, maybe last year, by delayed it coz of several reasons, one of them being I don't know any genuine therapists. I tried one in another city around 5 years back, but had a bad experience, that therapist was just waiting for our sessions to be over. It was all money minded business. So I guess I avoided finding one and going to therapy. But right now I really need to do it or else I'll just burst up in I don't know what ways! So please, if anyone knows of a good therapist in the above mentioned areas, please please do let me know.
