A bunch of people just were nominated for Forbes 30 under 30. What’s the deal with 30 under 30? Does it matter? Is it paid? What’s the judgement criteria? Would love some comments
1. Forbes 30 under 30, is kinda sold out
2. Has pretty bad track record (at least in USA), of the featured founders to be frauds

It is paid, in fact VCs ask the chicken founders to pay for it to bring some limelight. Google it, you will get the pricing as well.

Forbes lists now are meaningless. There is no criteria for nomination and someone else or you need to nominate yourself. Then who knows which dumb fuck decides to put you on the list

Most people in Forbes 30 Under 30 have turned out to be scammers.
It's nothing but a paid list and generally corrupt/scamming people pay for it.
If you're seeing someone on that list, you can safely assume they're a scammer.

@WoodenPub41 While not all scammers, a lot of the people on the list end up in trouble in some way or another. It’s heavily funded by VCs as a marketing method to sell their founders to push for higher valuations and sell outs. Once you understand the Venture Capital market and that there is a need to build early venture brand equity, I’m sure you’ll see that anyone significantly doubting the list and the merits behind them aren’t too off the mark.

If anyone has 30 under 30, make sure you block and report them to your nearest tax evasion authority.
Iss baar to literal nobodies are in that list. Helen Huang, Sharan Hegd and other scamming chamans.

It sells in boomer circle and lower tier college circle.
Doesn't work in tier 1.
Tier 1 knows it's a paid scam. Can tell you based on my college friend name in the last year list. He said karna padta hai to raise funds 🤣
I believe it’s a mix of both.
It’s for sure paid for the most part, have heard now from too many people across the startup world that they received offers to pay for it and get the title
Also, most of the names now end up being sus anyway
I do feel some must be legit though to balance it out

Its a mix of paid and merit selections. I know 10+ people who got in through merit, founders and VCs in this year's list. Haven't heard of anyone paying to be honest. At least in the India list.

It aint a scam. Its not paid for or anything.
VCs do give recommendations to the panel and nominate the founders of their portfolio companies, but thats where their role ends. The jury picks the winners

It's as useless as the blue tick on Twitter or Instagram now.
It’s mostly full of people who are rich from home - and hence have money to spend on awards
Some good names and people who deserve it, but mostly flawed otherwise

I have worked with two founders who have featured in Forbes 30 U 30, co-incidentally both happened when they were trying to raise the next round and maybe even struggling to do it.
That tells you a bit about how legitimate the list is 🤷♂️
