I was so happy when they reached out to me for the first time. I went and replied and then I waited and waited. Then same thing happened over and over. With two to three months gap, these people reached out and once I replied they ghosted me and few of them didn't even see my message. It was left unseen. I followed up with one recruiter.
He said the first guy is holding yours and he will get back to me. What the hell just happened? Till date I am still waiting.

Hey,

So I completed my prelims round @google , cleared it
completed 3/5 and its been almost 10 days - haven't heard back from my recruiter.

I have just one point of contact, so feeling kinda helpless as to whom I can reach out to.
Like i followed up thrice now over a period of one week - very respectfully.

I mean its my dream role and honestly, every day not getting any response is honestly painful - even If I didn't make it - At least I should hear back right? and I understand the number of applications must be extremely high - but still the process should be somewhat smooth right? Its Google after all.

Any suggestions on how to tackle the above situation?

Google APM India 2024 Role - Not getting a response from recruiter

Hi all, 
I am trying to get into google as a Product Analyst and there’s an active role at Google
I applied and also reached out to the hiring manager.
The hiring manager told me he’s getting my application routed to him but then he ghosted me 
It’s been over a month. 
Should I assume a rejection? I don’t know what’s the status of my application

Just trying to understand what could be the reasons behind this?

Is it normal for recruiters to ghost after confirming that they'll be rolling out an offer after a month long interview process?

Ghosted by recruiter after they gave verbal acceptance 10 days ago. One of my other offers expired during this time and now the recruiters are not replying to my emails at all. Have included the hiring manager in the emails as well. But no one is responding.

Around a month ago, HR called to ask if I was interested in the APM role. After following up multiple times for the interview, they said the hiring manager didn't like your profile. After 2-3 weeks, different HR reached out, saying they want to conduct round - 1 for the same team. The interview happened, and I reached out to HR after 3-4 days for the next steps, but she kept cutting my calls and completely ghosted me. I reached out to another HR, and she said the feedback on the portal was that "experience is not enough."

I was pretty disappointed as while conducting interviews, HRs reached out to me so many times, but they couldn't even send an automated email for feedback. 

But it didn't end there. The HR who ghosted me called again after a couple of weeks to schedule round 1 with another team. The interview went well, and the interviewer asked me about my availability for round 2 and when I could join them, etc., saying we would try to conduct the next round soon. When I reached out for feedback, HR kept saying I'll call you later. I'm busy right now, and then they ghosted me. After following up multiple times, she said the feedback wasn't positive. 

I hoped for round 2 here since the interviewer seemed convinced and contented with my profile. Now, just because I reached out 10s of times, they told me that I have been rejected!

One of the recruiter reached out on mail , OA was done.
She was supposed to schedule interviews in starting on October, but now it seems she just ghosted me. 
She isn’t responding on mails, tried to reach out on LinkedIn but in vain.

I am a '21 graduate from a Tier 1 college (old IIT) and have had short stints as product manager at a couple of startups. About a year back, I decided to startup but after a few months, realized that startup idea wasn't worth pursuing. 

Researched around a few startup ideas and finally landed upon a good one in D2C space. But the problem is financing. I don't have much saving and friends / family network wouldn't be able to finance this. I really want to pursue this idea but finance is becoming a hindrance. 

So started looking for job opportunities about 3 months back. I have been exploring work opportunities in product / founder office / EIR roles or other generalist role. 

Job hunt process has been frustrating to say the least. Getting very few calls. In most cases, people are ghosting after couple of rounds of interview or assignment. In some cases, after getting through 2-3 rounds, I got to know that opening has been closed temporarily. Most HRs don't even have the decency to give feedback. 

I don't intend to work in job for long anyway. As soon as I have the job, I plan to start working on my business idea and quit as soon as I have enough financial leeway. 

How should I go about job hunt process? I have been trying to connect with folks on LinkedIn in whose company job openings are there. Apart from this, I have been connecting with founders from recently funded startups. Naukri / Instahyre and IIM Jobs are other portals I have been looking on. Anything I should do differently here? 

Looking forward to hearing your suggestions / experience.

How bad is the job market?

In the past couple of months I have given multiple interviews where the interviewer said that they are good to go for the next round as the interview went well but the recruiter keeps ghosting.
I am not sure where I am going wrong?

Getting ghosted by recruiters

I recently enabled open to work on my profile,
Got immediate responses from recruiters,
They show so much interest saying “ Your skill set, experience is amazing and this is exactly what we are looking at our company, please share your resume and we can take this forward “
I get all hyped and share my resume, and I get no response back. Almost 5-10 recruiters have ghosted me like this.
I follow up multiple times asking for any update. And I get no response. They don’t even say “ I have forwarded your profile to the HM and we’ll get back to you “ 

Some of my friends are also facing the same issue.

I’m a product designer with 11+ yoe, if anyone here can refer me it will be really helpful 🙏

I gave my 3rd round of interview on last Friday and it went very well. I was told it was the last round and I was looking forward for an offer. But recruiter is telling me from the past 3 days that she hasn't received any feedback still and she should receive it soon ( the guy who took my interview was from US team). Is she bluffing?

I’m interviewing with one of the FAANG company, the interview process completed last week and recruiter have ghosted me. What are some valid reasons for ghosting? They could have just acknowledged and said will get back with more information when they have, instead of ghosting. Would you like to share some of your ghosting stories. Why does recruiters ghost candidates?

Attended an interview for a startup where they said all was okay and agreed to rollout the offer letter and last minute told hiring freeze. This is for an entry level role. 

Cannot name the company as I can get identified. Fintech startup.  Their payscales in glassdoor were showing high base for entry level roles in Business Operations. 


How do we make sure that recruiter does not ghost us . What are the strategies we can use to get the offer. These days, every recruiter in first call itself asking about salary expectations.
