Guidance on getting a Summer Internship

Hope this post reaches everyone well. I'm a final year engineering undergrad student from a core branch in a Tier 2 college. I'll cut to the chase - I hate my degree and want to switch over to DIgital Marketing. I recently completed a two month digital marketing internship in an arm of a retail brand. This was to test the waters; to see if I actually like Digital Marketing or just the idea of it. Turns out, it's pretty fun. While the tasks were mundane, I handled basic stuff like on-page SEO tactics, LOTS of content writing and a market analysis of our competitors. I wanted to also venture into other domains (like Performance Marketing and Brand Management), but I wasn't given the chance to do so. Coming to the topic, what do I do from here? Look up case studies? A remote intership (which I'm unsure if I can handle with college)? And what exactly does 'build a portfolio' entail? And yes, I know the market is in the doldrums right now. This might be the worst time to embark on a career in Marketing, but I need to bet on myself now. I've started applying for internships (January-July, leads appreciated!), and need guidance from someone elder than me on how to navigate the situation I'm in. Apologies for any errors. TLDR: Engineering student hates his degree (nothing new), loves Digital Marketing, needs guidance from someone senior to figure out a path towards an alternate career.

I'm a prefinal year student. I have pretty good knowledge in DSA, machine learning, deep learning and web development. I'm looking for internships right now. I'll be doing my 6th sem from this Jan 23. Can someone plz help me out? Students in my college have got few internships. I'm really depressed because placements are not a fair game. It's pure luck. I'm seeing dumb students getting great company.

Hello everyone; I need your help. I am a Computer Science student about to reach my final year in the coming two months. I heard that we will be having placements in July and the competition is fierce since there are thousands and thousands of students looking for job/internship. Till date; I have done frontend development and I am good with HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. I know theoratical portion of JavaScript and jQuery but get stuck when told to implement logic in problem solving. [I also know React.js but very basic like routing, states and props, etc. since I was not able to give much time to it] Addtionally; I also did a 3month internship in this domain and know how to get the work done but technical interview may become a problem. [I got this opportunity through referral] I will be having my End Sem exams next week and it will go on for 10-12days. After that; I will be able to give full-time to learning and will have probably 1 or 1.5 month to upskill myself. I am planning to do DSA and Full-Stack Development so can anyone guide me on how can I become capable to compete and outperform my peers? It's just that I think I have wasted my 3 years of college and have fear that I won't be placed since I am lagging so much.

Currently in 3rd year of B.Tech Electrical engineering from tier-1 college. I didn't get any internship as only 2 companies came for interns that too took only 6 people( 1 - nvidia and 5 - Texas). I tried applying on LinkedIn and Indeed and cold mailing HRs but I am not getting any return mails from any HR. I have applied to the summer internship program of IITs but I think I don't have a chance as my CGPA is low compared to others(8.42/10). What do I do to get an intern?

I am currently in my third year studying computer science and I am confused about what to do next. Here are some quick points about my profile: - Strong GitHub profile - Part of Google's summer of code 2023 - Built some interesting projects (tech stack: typescript, postgres, redis) - I have studied a fair bit of High Level Design (System Design) - I have a decent leetcode profile (500 questions mostly medium and Hard) (1800 contest rating) - I also have strong CS fundamentals (DBMS, oop, CN) I am currently getting interviews from startups but they want 6 month interns and I cannot do such a long internship right now with college. I am only available for a 2 month summer intern (which most startups don't want). I am from a Tier 2 college and we do have some good companies come for placements but I'm not sure about the scenario for next year. Any tips or advice on what I should focus on? how I should prepare? what kind of companies I should target? Your experience and insights will be of tremendous help for me
