I don't even have good grades. I don't know any skills, I'm just clueless about what i want to do in my life I'm too confused about it please help me out with some real solution. Hello everybody, I am a CSE student currently in the 3rd year of my undergrad. I am facing a problem in finding peers or friends with similar interests and some good effort towards learning something new and creating projects or products with me . I am studying in a college where my classmates are not interested in doing significant work; they prefer simple tasks and rely on cramming to achieve good GPAs. Can you give me some advice to help me find my way in this situation?

Currently I am in my second year from a Tier 3 college. On campus placements at my college for the 2024 batch is really worse. Few companies are hiring for sales roles etc. and most of them are putting tough eligibility criteria and hiring only few.

To be very honest, I have no hopes from on campus placements. I am going for the off campus route.
What should I do to get a decent intern in third year/fourth year and a decent job by the time of graduation?

Talking about my progress, I am doing DSA, taking part in contests in Codechef, Codeforces, and Leetcode. 
Besides that I have started learning Machine Learning. Have done only the Math part and basics though still now. Been to 2 offline hackathons.

Hi I'm 2nd year ECE undergrad, since the beginning I was very much clear about my goals but my parents weren't. I wanted to become an Ethical Hacker but they forced me to take up ECE,
Now I have finished half the path... But by now I have three backlogs and now I want to quit ECE, I want to study cse from first year is it a good idea to do so 
Note:I have no interest in going towards ece core and my backlogs might also increase

Career advice

I am currently in my third year studying computer science and I am confused about what to do next. Here are some quick points about my profile:

- Strong GitHub profile
- Part of Google's summer of code 2023
- Built some interesting projects (tech stack: typescript, postgres, redis)
- I have studied a fair bit of High Level Design (System Design)
- I have a decent leetcode profile (500 questions mostly medium and Hard) (1800 contest rating)
- I also have strong CS fundamentals (DBMS, oop, CN)

I am currently getting interviews from startups but they want 6 month interns and I cannot do such a long internship right now with college. I am only available for a 2 month summer intern (which most startups don't want). I am from a Tier 2 college and we do have some good companies come for placements but I'm not sure about the scenario for next year.

Any tips or advice on what I should focus on? how I should prepare? what kind of companies I should target?

I graduated in 2021 with a degree in electrical engineering from a decent college, but unfortunately, I didn't secure a placement. Since then, I've been struggling to find my path and ended up taking random jobs, leading to a significant gap in my career of almost 2 to 3 years. Alongside my career struggles, I've been battling with depression and anxiety, which have been exacerbated by the lack of support from family and friends. Despite seeking help from therapists and doctors, I haven't seen much improvement. Additionally, I attempted the GATE exam without success, as I lack passion and feel limited options are available.

**Request:**
I'm feeling lost and fearful about my future, especially considering my physical and mental health issues. My confidence has taken a hit due to repeated failures, and I find myself fearing everything. I'm reaching out to this community in the hope of finding guidance, support, and perhaps some practical advice on how to regain my confidence and overcome these fears.

I'm 2023 btech grad, I have selected in virtusa, LTIMindtree and dxc but none of them are giving response to full time. They are just delaying the process. 
I'm worried about my future, and confused what to do, so that I land a job. 
I have knowledge of core java, sql, basic dsa(leetcode 150+) and very basic project(that  don't come in mini project category). 

What to do? ... should I prepare dsa or do backend in java? ... or just wait for the on boarding

I am Stucked in a very weird situation, I am final year mechanical engineering student who was earlier preparing for product management/management consulting entry level roles but due to recession and layoffs and coming from a tier 3 college, I have to change my mind as first is non tech background and second tier 3 college tag , it was looking difficult for me to get an opportunity , I started preparing for gate but now after spending 6-7 months , I am realising, it never aligned with my goals , now what should I do 
I want to pivot to business analyst/entry product roles any how , I am graduating in June 2024 , neither I have much time left nor good companies are coming for placements , please help me out community

My younger bro is currently in his 3rd yr at NSUT Delhi.   He has been learning front end for a good while. And is now also learning AI/ML.

All his prep went into vain due to poor internship placements. 

He is now very underconfident about interning off campus and wants to directly sit for main placements.

My understanding is that it’s critical to have a good brand internship and a PPO from them preferably. This worked for me as a non-techie so could be a bias.

But if you or anyone you know has been through this journey, kindly suggest what should be the ideal way forward?

I would like to hear some suggestions on what should I do next.
I am an non-IT engineering graduate, got into an MNC (witch) for 3.5LPA, was onboarded for a support role after clearing all mandatory  trainings and tests, where majority of my work revolves around filling Excel sheets and scheduling support calls.
After a lots of struggle I was relieved from that project(after 1year 5 months). After that I joined a python automation script development team

My current python team is going very well, i get to dirty my hands with code in python.
It's been 6months in python team. Over all 2years spend in same company, when I try to switch for other company, I feel like I'm no where close to their requirements, my only skill is python application automation using respective modules, with months of experience.

Most of the roles I see are having different different combinations of tools and technologies. 

I also know medium level DSA.

Please suggest what should I do so that I can switch companies.

Hi all , I'm a CS graduate of 2023 in a t3 college.
I have done my internship in a startup company which closed in just 2 months . I had worked really hard and had completed multiple courses in MERN stack for a year in 2022 . Now there are virtually no companies hiring a MERN stack engineer. All the in campus placement of my college are mass hirers and non core CS companies. I was always intrested in theatre which I did effortlessly. I could do two things now . 
1. Choose to find a job in some 3-5 lpa job and have wet dreams about joing maang one day 
2. Choose to patiently grow in film industry. 
Which of them would be worth it. I appreciate the rudest words.be blunt .
