Go through a proper theory coursework (books or some form of video training courses made available from International pros). Understand the basic math and theory behind the game (EV of your moves / starting hand ranges from various positions etc).  
 Define your bankroll and the type of game you wanna play (cash vs tournaments , NLHE vs PLO) and then stick to the games which give you at least 100 buy ins with your bankroll. This is extremely important to ride out the variance in the game. Put that poker bankroll aside in a separate account and be meticulous while tracking and maintaining your poker bankroll on a daily basis to understand if you need to level up or down in stakes.  
 If u are happy with you progress, invest in some 1:1 coaching from some good Indian pros to review your hand history and point out mistakes / get actionable feedback to improve your game.

I assume you guys know some basics of Texas Hold'em Poker. Flop refers to "the dealing of the first three face-up cards to the board"

Now, let's look at the table and their positions:
1. Blinds: First to act every street after pre-flop.
2. Early positions: Under the Gun(UTG)
3. Middle positions
4. Late positions: Button and Cut Off

The order for a 10 person game would be: Small Blind(SB) → Big Blind(BB) → Under the Gun(UTG) → UTG+1 → UTG+2 → MP1 → MP2 → MP3 → Cutting off the Button (CO) → Button (BTN) and then order repeats ...

Some insights:
1. Blinds see the flop at a discount because they are compelled to play but are at a disadvantage because they are first to act.
2. This means that more money is made in late positions because they have more information to act on.
3. However in short stack situations, where effective stack size is small then early positions are better because you have the opportunity to go all in before someone else can as you can maintain Fold equity(Equity from Aggression).

So, Expected Value or E(V) is how do you determine whether you should call or fold basis the size of the pot and your contribution to it basis the number of outs(potential winning hands) you have.

E(V) = Win % * Win Amt - Lose % * Lose Amt

For example:
Villain(V) [UTG+1] = $500
Hero(H) (MP1) = $500

SB/BB + Ante = 20/40 + 10
Here, Ante is the bet everyone has to make every hand. This is to make the pot worth playing for everyone.

Pre-Flop: $140
H = A 10 (suited Hearts)
V = ? (Unknown)

1 Fold
V raises $120
H calls $120, 5 Folds

Flop: $380
The flop is 8 Heart, 3 Heart, K Club
V = $370 (All In)
H = ? (Do you call or fold?)

Solution:
A call is positive E(V)  if:
 Win % > Call Amt/ Pot after Call 

You have a strong hand if you can get a flush here. 
which means you need one of the next two cards
Heart Heart Club | Heart* | Heart*

Which means:
Win % = 1 - (Odds of 2 cards not being Hearts)
= 1 - (40/49 * 39/48)
= ~ 36%

So,
370/1120 = ~33% is  Call Amt/Pot after Call

Since, 36% > 33% Hero should call.

E(V) = 36% * (380+x) - x * 66%
E(V) cut off at 0,

x = $404

You stand to make $ if you decide to call that bet. You can raise any amount till $404 for a positive E(V) after which you should mathematically fold.

An easier way to calculate this is to use 2% if you can only see one card after flop and 4% if you can see both cards.

That way, Win % here would be = 4% *  9 = 36%
9 outs because, 9 cards that are Hearts are left in the deck.

What's the craziest way you've made money ?

At start of 2020 was transitioning to a new job. Got FnF of 1.3L from prev. job in March of that year.  
  
 Unwittingly YOLOed all of it into crypto (ETH, MATIC, UNI). Over the next year it grew to ~85L. Withdrew all, paid taxes and put the lumpsum ~50L in mutual funds and FDs on dad's advice. Not gonna get lucky like that ever again.

I am graduating from  non-CS/IT branch at a prestigious college this month. In July, I will be joining as an SDE 1 at Appian. Since this is my first full-time job, I want to prepare myself. Experienced professionals, please advise on what to do and what to avoid for better personal and professional growth.

Here are some facts about myself:

Personally, I am somewhat introverted but can talk if necessary and am good at conversing with friends. I often find that others put more effort into initiating conversations, which is why I have only a few friends and no female friends. Most of the time, I am comfortable with this, but sometimes I feel a bit lost.
I rarely play sports or engage in physical activities (I’m not good at any sports). Any suggestions for improvement in this area would be appreciated.

Professionally, I was a mediocre student in college and spent a lot of time on LeetCode (I’ve solved around 700 questions). Should I continue with LeetCode or competitive programming after joining? Or should I focus on projects and learning new tech stacks or AI/ML (I’ve studied a few courses and worked on ML projects)? 
Alternatively, should I just focus on company work and not pursue anything on my own?


Lastly, I have a keen interest in finance and the stock market. I’ve been learning and investing for the past four years. Should I devote more time to learning technical analysis and swing trading, or should I keep it minimal?

Okay so I landed an internship at a startup as a front-end developer in Feb and recently got converted to full time in Aug. But the thing is im the only guy they have for development (yes literally not a single person knows dev other than me) and well a little about me, I got imposter syndrome. I have been working on frontend for quite some time now but because I'm the only one here I need to build everything so I never really got time to actually learn stuff, I just use gpt for everything and get the work done. 

Now my task is to make the full fledged website of the company ( I have the figma and have been asked to build it). It kinda feels like I'm working on a self project but with deadline set by someone else? The thing is I have asked them numerous times to hire someone senior but they say I'm good enough as I somehow was able to build a decentish product in my 3-4 month internship( not me ig I learnt the very basics and used gpt). I feel like a fraud all I do is do chatgpt as i know I won't be able to build something by myself 😔, can anyone help in what can I do in his situation? Like if I try to actually learn while making stuff it'll take too much time I feel, how can I learn and grow in a situation like this?
