How do you manage your mental health?

*TW: Mental Health Struggles* Hi there, folks! I was contemplating about how my fellow professionals with mental health conditions manage their careers and grow despite the daily struggles. You see, I deal with Clinical Depression and Anxiety which often hinders how I function day to day and have too manage through rigorous therapy and opting for heavy medication. This condition often disables me to concentrate on long-term performance and stability in a ln organisation- I often get burnout within 6-7 months of the job & need to take a sabbatical of the work. Is mental health a big problem for all you other PMs ? Sometimes days, weeks and months are so difficult in aligning , solving and scoping that you have a breakdown . The constant need to always be on top is exhausting and take a toll. How do guys handle this ?

Lately i have been struggling to cope up with my work and family . It’s been very difficult at my work lately. Also my personal life is a roller coaster mentally! I feel difficult to cope up. People at my work are sarcastic about my performance even though i am fulfilling all my basic tasks. I sleep very late thinking about all these things especially my personal struggles! How are you guys coping up?

I'm working at a decently large firm here in Bangalore, leading a cool project that involves stuff I really like, like modeling and data engineering. Plus, I'm helping leadership team with some cool projects which is giving me a lot of visibility in the org. Lately I'm finding it hard to stay motivated. I'm on medication and seeing a therapist for depression, and I’ve been feeling a lot better overall. It's just that with all these responsibilities I'm not feeling happy. I sometimes vent out on juniors or colleagues (erratic behaviour). Has anyone else gone through something like this? What helped you get past this kind of mental block? Any tips or advice would be really helpful.

Started meditating now and use my Apple Watch for guidance. I wonder what other people are doing. Because I’m having some rough nights sleeping in due to anxiety. Avoiding anxiolytics or beta blockers for now. Also avoiding a mental health therapist for as long as I can.

I have recently joined a startup as an APM (My first PM role) and my manager is teaching me the bits and pieces of Product Management. The issue is, while he's helpful and experienced in this field, he sometimes talks to me in a very condescending way which kinda hurts me. I agree that I have a lot to learn and getting a job as an APM is a big thing, especially when you've been in a specialist role for all your life but I still don't get the point of patronizing your juniors. I'm trying to get better at writing documentation and specs but I get very disheartened after every spec review meeting I schedule with him. Any tips for handling this? And what are some ways to get better at writing documentation and specs?

I am working as a senior product manager in a fintech startup. I am under a lot of stress due to work pressure, continuous badgering from business and tech stakeholders and loneliness. I always think of going home but staying in stressful job mainly because I don't want to be jobless. I can only post my views here anonymously because I don't want to be seen as loser. Request members if they can provide their suggestions. PS : As far as my profile is concerned it's B tech + MBA from tier 1 college and 3 years of tech experience followed by 7 yrs into Product Management and living alone in Bangalore.

Sorry if it feels like a vent but better be this than nothing else. This has been a slow year for me, I look everywhere and people are doing better than me. Being a fresher who had his offer revoked was already a hard blow but I somehow got a job at an MNC but even at such a low salary I'm being overworked and giving them more output than they deserve. I'm slowly heading through a burnout or might be going through one and it's not good when I'm supposed to be so active learning new stuff but here I'm just churning out wheat like a slave. But this might not be a cry for help,I just wanna make myself aware of where I am and it's so much more than just these money-hungry sharks who hired us talking abt ethics that you should not be working for money but cause you can and enjoy. Ig I need steps to uplift myself I'll be back again tomorrow with more questions than these rants.
