There are a lot of posts on how much should we invest in various financial instruments like MF, stocks etc. But what percentage of your salary should we implement in self care/ self improvement. Usually we avoid spending much on self improvement courses/ coaching etc because it seems to have a lower priority compared to stuff like saving money for own house etc.
How much percentage do you invest in yourself.

I’ll go first-

Take home per month- 1.75L (changed to 2.1 right now, but I’ll talk about previous one)

SIP- 70k
Stocks- ~30k if you average on a quarterly basis (smallcase)
Percentage- 57%
Portfolio- 33.5L

It's been close to a year since I am earning a salary and this is what I do:
1. Invest a little less than 30% straight into MFs. I have three ongoing SIPs- small cap, flexicap and a Large + Midcap fund. (Planning to increase the amount further into these and not start a new sip)

2. Max out 80C by putting the entire limit in PPF, this is on top of what is by default deposited into EPF.

3. A little (inconsistently) into direct stocks as and when I find or get to know about a decent trade opportunity.

4. An LIC ULIP plan that my father made me subscribe to 🙂 (hopefully will end in a couple more years)

Every month my salary gets credited I barely spend 20% of it the rest of it is just sitting around in my bank account it's already above 5L. I keep thinking of investing it in stocks/mf but it's a lot of work 😔

We, as a family of two, roughly save 50-60% of our salaries every month. Amongst the savings, 95% goes to equity mutual funds (index). We don’t have any other hard asset and stay on rent in a tier 1 Indian city hardly without any EMI and planning to expand the family soon.

But to all youngsters, please start investing early in your career, rather than pushing for new home & expensive cars, iPhones. 1. What kind of investor are you? 
I am an opportunity investor, and I do buy good stocks whenever they are in reasonable valuations. Below are my monthly numbers. 

2. Where’s the majority of your investment portfolio ?
I have three RE investments and one of them has loan. And I’m planning to buy a property in Goa or HP. 

3. What’s your monthly investment breakdown?

1.7L/ Month (approx) 

60k - SIP (mutual funds)
60k - stocks (smallcase, us stocks using vested) 
30k - as opportunity fund, this is transferred to a different bank account 
10-20k - for experimental investments in crypto, nfts, and some trading. This is a new segment and I don’t have much experience in this and that’s why starting small here. 

4. Anything else you want to share? 

I am learning to invest on a daily basis. Reading, videos and podcasts are my sources. Some of my tops picks are Whiteboard finance (Marko), My first Million and Smart Passive Income, finance with Saran, and Akshat Shrivastava.

Hi, I am 25 years old and I live in Bangalore. I make around 1.35L pm and I’m struggling to understand how much to save or invest in a month. I understand the 50 / 30 / 20 rule but feel like using 50% of my income on needs is a lot. 

I also do not understand if I should have a different pot for savings (liquid) and investments or if I should be putting aside all my extra money on investments. Also how much is a decent amount to spend on rent + food + lifestyle etc.

Hi folks, I have recently started investing after repeatedly being told to not hoard my money in savings, wanted to know how/how much other people invest. 
Current portfolio:
Equity: 2.5 L ( banking, fmcg, ETFs)
