What kind of investor are you? I am an opportunity investor, and I do buy good stocks whenever they are in reasonable valuations. Below are my monthly numbers.

What’s your monthly investment breakdown?
1.7L/ Month (approx)
60k - SIP (mutual funds) 60k - stocks (smallcase, us stocks using vested) 30k - as opportunity fund, this is transferred to a different bank account 10-20k - for experimental investments in crypto, nfts, and some trading. This is a new segment and I don’t have much experience in this and that’s why starting small here.
I am learning to invest on a daily basis. Reading, videos and podcasts are my sources. Some of my tops picks are Whiteboard finance (Marko), My first Million and Smart Passive Income, finance with Saran, and Akshat Shrivastava.
How much is your monthly in-hand salary if you invest 1.7L? Could you post your expenses and it's breakup?
For me, I don't have a monthly investing plan, but I save roughly 80-90K monthly. Only invest in MFs & PPF. Generally invest 1-3 times a year whenever market falls by a lot. Last 2 investments were during Mar2023 and Oct2023.
I get around 4.4L monthly and I have two rental properties which give me 1.1 L monthly. One is a fully furnished 3BHK in BlR and the other is an independent house outside BLR given as AirBnB.
My other monthly expenses are below

Parents- 25k
Entertainment- 5-6k
Food and Drinks- 6-8k
Kids education- 24k
Travel fund - 20k it is kept in a joint account.
Food, drink, entertainment and travel
I don’t eat, drink or party outside too much. Mostly eat home cooked food. I watch 1-2 movies with family and also don’t travel much these days.
Shopping
I also don’t shop extensively and usually buy daily wear from Amazon or decathlon brand clothes, it’s cheap and good. I do a good 3-4 festive shoppings per year for everyone in the family.
Gadgets
I don’t have craze for new gadgets, still using iPhone 11 Pro and previously used iPhone 6 for almost 5-6 years.
Vehicle
No plans to upgrade my cars, I have two of them and one is more than 10 years old and the second is 5 years old.

That’s absolutely file bhai, it’s important to start small and try reducing your unnecessary expenses, like gadgets, new tech, vehicles, eating out and parties. I’m not saying you should not have these but, assess your outflow for few months and try reducing the not so important expenses.Also gradually increase your monthly savings.

I am planning to shift from Axis to something else. Motilal Oswal recently launched a new Small cap fund, I am planning to swing my Axis portfolio to that. Also, ICICI Bharat 22 fund seems promising, I may invest a bit in that as well,
I have 2 Smallcase subscriptions Gulaq Gear 6 and Tare Zameen Par roughly 35k pm. I also invest in good Indian companies as well, some of my top gainers are HDFC bank (24% now) it's in a good zone now as well, Tata Motors (190%), Bajaj Hind sugar (112%) Zomato (120%), ITC (123%), and so on.
On Vested I usually buy US tech stocks, Shopify, Meta, NVida, Apple, MS are my top gainers.
