How much does brand name matter?

Hey folks a fresher here. I just got an offer from akamai. How is the company in terms of learning? I have heard a few folks call it a retirement company. Is that true? Is it a good choice to join akamai early in your career. When I try to switch in the future how will Akamai look on the resume. Will startups consider me?

Anyone here from AKAMAI ? I got a job offer for the SDET role. should i switch to AKAMAI or Try for good company. Basically wants to know about akamai and what's the salary for SDET 1 ? Your advice will help me to take right decision.

I'm working in service based company in worst tech (acc to me ). There are not enough projects still they hire so many freshers . Current now I'm 1 year 3 months exp I'm doing self study of data engineer and done some decent project . Should I plan for internal switch or look for outside opportunities. Will I get atleast mid senior role outside?(im planning after 2 years exp) I don't wanna start again in entry level. What checklist should I follow to successful switch. I didn't get any hike for my first year( that's y I'm planning all this) I respect every advice and criticism in my plan Thanks in advance.

I graduated in 2021 and have worked in startups across EdTech, Cloud Communication, and currently in FinTech at a Series A startup. After 1.6 years in my first role, I pursued a 23% pay increase but faced a layoff after 10 months. Now, despite my experience, I'm finding it challenging to secure interview calls for an SDE 2 position. I currently work at a Series A startup where I joined after accepting a pay cut.(little above my first company ctc😢 and working for 7 months). My Job is really writing bunch of code but not designing or implementing any prominent systems as i am still SDE-1. I'm genuinely seeking your advice: 1️⃣ How do frequent job changes early in one's career impact hiring decisions, especially in different tech sectors? 2️⃣ Given my tech skills and startup background, what strategies can I employ to strengthen my resume for an SDE 2 role? 3️⃣ How significant is the company's reputation when considering a move to a more established startups/MNCs? 4. Is it worth changing or should i continue but pay is low than previous and i am not doing any sde 2 level job. Tech Stack: Java, Python, AWS, Flask, Springboot

Hello folks, I am working with a startup (now acquired by a big fintech) as FTE for 1.5 years now (Full stack dev) , my TC is 18 LPA (14.4 Fixed + Variable) in a permanent wfh model. The reason I want to switch is that my tech team is very small (4 people) and there is no senior person in my team from whom I can learn something, thus my learning has become stagnant technical wise. Should I try and switch company or stay in the same for more time, considering the current market scenario? PS: I am a 2022 graduate.

My main motivation for wanting to switch to some startup is the potential for high learning and growth opportunities, especially since I'm still relatively early in my career. However, I'm a bit torn between targeting multinational corporations (MNCs) like FAANG and sticking with startups.On one hand, MNCs offer more stability and potentially valuable stock options, which can be more than just paper money. So, my question is, should I prioritize learning and growth by staying with startups, or should I also consider the FAANG tag and potential stock benefits? Also Would there be any added advantage when I later interview at some FAANG , after working as a founding engineer for 3-4 years in some startup (given I’ll have to build multiple things from scratch and owning multiple modules). The base package for the offer I hold is roughly equivalent to what FAANGs pay at my level. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As a fresher in an IT company working as a backend developer, I am really confused with how to proceed ahead for growth in my career. I have two options : 1.Learn Frontend and be Full stack dev 2. Move to devops I need advice which would be more feasible and why. Keeping interests aside as of now since I would be new to both domains. Any new ideas or domains are also welcomed!
