How much money is enough money đź’µ ??

How much inhand income for a couple is good enough to lead a decent upper middle class life in Banglore….. Looking at the overpriced real estate and exorbitant rents and school fees for kids, young people these days are really worried about getting married.

Married people please share some insights…..

My def of Upper middle class life for a new couple…

  1. 2bhk in a gated society or decent standalone building.
  2. Gym and healthy life style
  3. Movies / concerts / events twice a month
  4. One 2-day and one week long tour in a year
  5. A decent car (something like nexon / breeza)
  6. Able to invest a lil bit for retirement.

How much would be required for leading such a lifestyle ?

You can do all the above with 2L/M in hand

I think household income has to be at least 50 lpa if u dnt consider unknown expenses like medical or impulse purchase.

While I agree that 2L PM is technically enough for a couple to live comfortably in BLR, I think one should look into the following.

1, How often do you update your gadgets, car, bike, appliances, etc? 2. How do you plan for emergencies? 3. How would you plan for one-time expenses like the school's initial down payment?

Everyone likes to upgrade their lifestyle, continuously. A Tata Nexon would make you feel like you are driving an average car in a few years, Same with other material things in life.

But the magic word is ENOUGH, what is enough for you? Are you able to control your urge to buy that new fancy iPhone? and so on.

So the bottom line is – No money is "actually" enough, if you don't regulate the outflow of your money. Greed and material addictions will empty your pocket sooner than you imagine.
