Hi, I am planning to join Microsoft India next month as a SWE 2 (L61/L62) and I am pretty excited about it. I have aspirations and dreams to moving to US (I know its not that amazing and India is great but I wanna go due to family). I know if you are lucky and spend enough time in a company, such as Amazon, you may get that chance. I used to work at Amazon IN but I was laid off cause JWO. Can someone working at Microsoft India, make this move in lets say 2-3 years or more if they perform well, keep their manager informed about these plans and lurk for opportunities. Hi everyone. I am here with a query some of you may think that I am stupid but still I would like to know about it. I am a working professional currently working in a big 4 in India. My academics are not good. I have 69% in 10th but 49% in 12th. And 9.18 DGPA in my graduation. I am 2022 pass out student. It has been 1.5 years since I have started working in my current company. But for long I have a desire to get international exposure. My poor academics is a great hindrance on my side and I totally understand that. But I would like to know how can I get any job in Canada or USA in my situation. Is it still possible to get job over there? Can anyone guide me?

Hi folks, I'm looking forward to an engg role where the team is distributed in 2 to 3 countries. Both my Reporting Manager and Sr. EM sit in the US and are of Chinese origin. Rest 3 to 4 Devs are in Bangalore and rest in other South East Asian country. Work and tech wise it's pretty good. Interesting product with great tech to work with. WLB is good. WFO is 3 days a week. Comp is also good. I'm supposed to have standup/product meetings starting mostly from 9 or 10 am for timezone overlap with manager 1:1 scheduled once every week and wrap up the day by 5 or 6 pm. Should I accept the role or reject it?

I wanted to know if you're working in a big4 and you want to work in abroad, do they help you with it ? and would that lead to paying you less than the market standard in the foreign country ?

Just finished my culture fit round with Microsoft GD for consultant role. I'm confident I'll get an offer for hyderabad. I know GDs reputation. I have 6 years experience and a ctc of 10.x from a local small startup. I wanted to understand after how long in GD can I apply to IDC. I'm willing to give it all. All the hard work required. But do I have to complete 1 year for internal switching.? Anybody know?

Has any recruiter asked you to share PAN number before even scheduling interviews? I recently got a call from Physics Wallah recruiter and after exchanging common information she demanded PAN number to which at first I refused then told her I’ll share over email. I said that so that I could check if she is not a scammer. I also asked her why it is necessary? To which she provided generic BS(to put into portal, big companies also ask this). Verified from truecaller and linkedin that she is indeed genuine. But anyways I didn’t feel comfortable to share a sensitive government ID before even having interviews. I told her my reasons and she rudely said they won’t be able to proceed further and I said no problem! Request everyone to refrain from these practices otherwise this will become a norm. You don’t know in whose hand your ID will go and how and where they will store this info. Cut the BS and just say no.
