Interview tips - VC
I have an interview with Titan Capital - Folks any tips would be highly appreciated!!!
Hey , I'll jot down basis my experience:
1) I think the best thing you can do is read as much about startups, have a point of view about things that are on in the industry. Prior to your interview: go through all investments Sequoia, Accel, Elevation, Lightspeed, Matrix have done in the last year at seed stage. Mostly, these are themes that would be top of mind for Titan as well. It will enable you to answer on their questions
2) VC interviews are not as much about just structure (like consulting) but also a lot about some creative thinking, having a pointed answer, being able to bring out insights. This sounds generic, but what I want to convey is, just feel mentally free and feel free to stick to your point in an argument if your gut tells you to
3) Be well versed with metrics. When I interviewed, I was extremely behind on this, and I started with this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTg3RZPXgLg
4) Have a point of view on their portfolio. 3 companies you like, 1-2 you don't. And the reasons why. These are typical questions
5) Have a point of view on 2 sectors in a strong way, because they typically ask what sectors you like. Ideally it can come from something you've already read about or have worked in. There, have POV on why you like it, what the future is, what sub themes are interesting. And 2-3 emerging startups that you would want to dive deeper on
6) Sometimes, they also ask how you will source deals. Make up anything for that part, just be pre-prepared.
Hope this helps. Best of luck!

For number 6 here's your answer: nurture a network of CAs, lawyers, and business bankers to spot up and coming under the radar startups.
