I’ll go first. 1. What kind of investor are you? I am an opportunity investor, and I do buy good stocks whenever they are in reasonable valuations. Below are my monthly numbers. 2. Where’s the majority of your investment portfolio ? I have three RE investments and one of them has loan. And I’m planning to buy a property in Goa or HP. 3. What’s your monthly investment breakdown? 1.7L/ Month (approx) 60k - SIP (mutual funds) 60k - stocks (smallcase, us stocks using vested) 30k - as opportunity fund, this is transferred to a different bank account 10-20k - for experimental investments in crypto, nfts, and some trading. This is a new segment and I don’t have much experience in this and that’s why starting small here. 4. Anything else you want to share? I am learning to invest on a daily basis. Reading, videos and podcasts are my sources. Some of my tops picks are Whiteboard finance (Marko), My first Million and Smart Passive Income, finance with Saran, and Akshat Shrivastava.

People say you can't time the market but I am curious what is the junta on Grapevine thinking about investing in the current times. Also where do I invest now? I have some 1L to invest that would not impact my current liquidity.

Current mf portfolio (total invested = 10L) : Axis small cap Quant absolute Hdfc equity savings Axis blue chip Sbi gold (just started) Top performers are axis small cap and quant; also running an sip on them Current stocks (1.3L ): Mostly largecap (mostly in red) The rest of the money is either in fds or in the Bank (significant amount) I feel the equity portion of my investments is very less and I need to be a bit more aggressive on it right now since I've about 60% of my net worth in either fd or in Bank. I can probably do a 5L lump sum then an sip on the same if they continue to perform well. Hello good people of grapevine, I have recently started my full-time job as a software engineer, and wanted to start my journey into investing. After doing a bit of research, I feel SIPs in mutual funds is the way to go forward at this point. For now I want to start putting 20k into MF SIPs every month. I took a look at a few MFs which were very high risk but over a period of 3-5 years yielded great returns (50%) as well. While the low to moderate risk MFs yielded low returns (5%). Though the risk is high, but seeing stable returns over a large period of time, how safe is it to invest in very high risk MFs and not incur losses? Any other advice is also thoroughly appreciated Thanks fellow grapeviners. risk appetite: moderate to high investment horizon: 5-10 years
