Google reduced prices by 70% after ola came up with very affordable pricing. Who are actually using this till now? Any Startups that will gain advantage with this? How much revenue are they bringing to Google till now? I'm unaware of this industry and not from tech background. Can someone explain in Layman Terms?

Damn, let me tell you how Ola has messed up the auto rickshaw industry! They came in acting all fancy, promising convenience and fair prices. But what do we get? Overcharging like crazy! Their surge pricing during peak hours is a complete rip-off. They take advantage of our desperation and squeeze every penny out of us. And who suffers the most? The hardworking folks who rely on auto rickshaws every day.

But it doesn't stop there. Ola's profiteering tactics have destroyed the earning potential of auto rickshaw drivers. They used to have control over their fares and make a decent living. Now, Ola dictates the prices and leaves the drivers scraping for scraps. It's just not fair! They've disrupted the whole system, and not in a good way. The drivers are struggling, and we passengers are getting ripped off left and right. Ola, you've turned a once reliable and affordable mode of transportation into a nightmare. Shame on you!

Lately Ola's founder Bhavish has been discontinuing their dependencies on foreign products ranging from their own cloud servers to their own GPT's which people are specualting is just a wrapper over ChatGPT and lately launched their own Ola Maps which is itself a wrapper over OpenStreetMap. 

Will this benefit Indian Companies to compete with the global ones or will it just die down eventually. Ola folks can shed some light on it. 😁

What's your opinion on Ola's nationifacation of their products.

Ola is just doing big cost cutting. If cards played well they can be selling this as an API, cheaper alternatives to the big giants. Not the best but get the job down at a lower price. I am feeling optimistic about this for the only reason is Ola can switch back to the maps or chat gpt anytime they want. They are just building cheaper alternatives not something new.

Ex Ola here. Everything this guy says is sham. Ola is a shit hole. Stay away from anything Ola sells. For data point here's one: they have an employee churn rate of 50% every year (half of the company leaves every year)

Google starting to show bias in results.

Lately many of the startups faced valuation cuts. Baron Capital cut Swiggy by 40%, Blackrock and Pepsis cut Byju’s by 70%, SoftBank cut Oyo by 70%. Just to name a few. 

Everything about Byju’s is very much present here on grapevine. I’m curious to know about others, not limited to the ones named above. How’s your organization doing these days?
