- Ola is entering the $5-billion quick commerce market, competing with Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and Flipkart Minute.

- The quick commerce sector has become indispensable, with rapid growth since 2021, according to UBS analysts.
- Blinkit has been crucial to Zomato's growth, while Zepto is raising $1 billion, showing strong investor confidence.
- Ola's Bhavish Aggarwal plans to use robots in dark stores, unlike competitors who rely on human labor.

Expect to see more rowdy delivery drivers on the road. Be prepared to get your expensive cars scratched. I wonder why anyone needs groceries in 5-8mins. We were fine when groceries were bought on weekly basis. It pushed us out of our lazy seats. These quick deliveries are only making us lazy and making delivery boys ride in risky manner.

Ola might just win this by delivering to people even before they can even dream of buying something using AI and his electric spaceship

Ola is in only 1 business and that is the business of raising Money.
Ola cabs are horrible but no he'll launch Ola money, food delivery, prepaid card, ola electric, Ola maps, AI, cloud and what not.
Bhavish know how to sell stories and he'll keep doing and getting richer.
Make hay while sun shines so use discounts and all for new service but do not bat your money on him.

How will Ola's use of robots in dark stores impact operational costs and scalability compared to competitors relying on human labor?

Wannabe Elon following his footsteps in co. creation. Also creating faku controversies before an IPO, doing stuff for 15 mins of fame, and taking in more than he can chew.
The only USP they are claiming is that of efficiency in order processing time through automation which is an infeasible task in India when there is cheap labour in the market.
The cost of automating the dark stores will be astronomical given they have those capabilities in the first place.
It is financially better to leverage cheap labour in India and tradeoff 3 min order processing time advantage. In which case they don't have any differentiation.
The only way to buy customers in that case will be through deep discounts which is not sustainable in the long term.
They have to raise prices and people will switch back to quick commerce optimized apps like zepto and blinkit which are doing it more efficiently.

OMG! This guy! ๐คฃ I was in ola when they launched it first time. Utter chaos & directionless. All because it was a fad at the time & he wanted to raise money. Burned crores to set up warehousing, inventory, dark stores, staffing etc. then it was all shut down within 2 months, selling stock to scrap at the end, so many people fired.. nothing's going to be different now
