I got a remote job and planning to shift to tier 4 city. Major reason is to be with family and have slow pace life. The small town has good enough infrastructure including good internet and road connectivity.
Do you think it would be a good idea in short term or long term? I am planning to continue remote job only until the day comes where i wont be able to find remote job.
Yes it good idea , I’m doing the same .. Your not missing anything.. your away from pollution, fast life , rat race . You will be with your parents, relatives and loved ones what other we need in life just chill and relax
Curious, you are in which role? What is your thoughts about once you reach up to the management level the option of getting such decreases as very few companies allow remote for managers unless its complete remote company?
I had been doing this from last 4 years and being in my villege (15k population), it was all due to certain personal responsibilities even before covid, but this have turned into a blessing and was able to racked upto $150K from last 2 years being on remote/contracts jobs). Obviously it was all risk, though this decision was all worth of it and best of till date.
Been doing that since the beginning of Covid. Luckily my company still offers remote job option. I discovered my love for surfing. Now I live in tier 4 surf towns in India, staying in each town for 4-6 months, and am loving it.
