Is it good to shift to tier 3-4 city in case of remote job?

Hi Guys, I am senior dev with 10+ yrs of experience. I am working remotely for last 3 yrs. I want to move to my hometown which is tier 3 city. The main purpose of moving is because my daughter can have company of my parents, saving money and slow pace life. The infra, schools and hospitals here are better then what i get in my area in Pune Has anyone moved to tier 3 cities in case of remote job? How has been experience so far? My only fomo is that what in the future i need to switch, will i be able to find the remote job easily? How hard it is to find the remote job?

I know a lot of companies are hiring for roles with competitive offers that are in sync with Bengaluru, Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai, and Hyderabad. Why not stay away from metros given the right opportunities? Would love to hear your thoughts.

I have awork ex of 5 years and work with one of the best consumer tech startups in India making 32LPA and stocks. Lately, I feel that no matter how much you make here, the quality of life isn't all that great in Bangalore with the roads, pollution and what not. At this stage, I can't lose 2 years of my time to a masters degree and start afresh in the USA. At the same time, I'm not sure how to find job opportunities in US, EU or even SE Asia. Can anyone guide me on this?

Guys who are staying in metro cities like Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore or Hyderabad.. Can anyone tell me how much in hand salary is sufficient to live above mentioned metro cities with the family who has parents and 2 children dependents? Currently I am working remotely (work from home) but due to no hikes or promotion I think I need to switch and now a days very less or none companies offering work from home..Evey company either 5 days a week or following hybrid model... So, please give ur valuable suggestions so that I can get idea whether should I switch and come to any metro cities or should I stay back in my hometown with same salary?

Background: I have around 7 years of experience. Right now doing WFH from tier-2 city and staying with family (Married so wife + my parents). My current job is good but politics and bad manager came into picture. I applied to few jobs and got an offer. Current Situation: The offer I got is WFO (hybrid) from Bangalore so I need to move. Increment in terms of cash is 12.5% (they dont want to push more). RSU is good and they vest in 1 year directly. I estimate that house I require near my office (Kadybeesanahalli) will cost around 50-60k and rest budget of 50-60k. So I will save around 1-1.5L (50% will go to MF, stock etc) Question: Is this a good decision to move and settle there ? New org is a reputable one and has stable job as of now Note: I am not including my wifes salary as she still needs to search a job

I’m from Tier 3 city, software engineer, 7 YoE. I work with great team member and they really love their work but I’m not that passionate. I take ownership of my work but don’t feel like I belong here. I’m not good in coding and SDET by profession. I didn’t save enough money in my first 3 years of career, switched back to back from 2020 onwards and recently moved out of India and now I think I have enough money. I always wanted to settle in my native place, Prayagraj in UP unlike my colleagues and most of my friends who enjoy to be in metro city. I somehow feel I have very less needs and if I shift to Tier 3 city, I’d have less expenses and I don’t have to buy houses as I already have home. At the same time, I feel may be I feel FOMO 5-10 years down the line I left good job, lifestyle. Additionally, I’m looking to get married, none of IT sector girls want to live in Tier 3 and rightly so as they put so much effort so they want to live/settle in metros mostly. 8 years back I took GRE, put all efforts to do MS from US. 2 years back, I got this opportunity to live that life but I feel I don’t enjoy hustle culture/ city lights. Don’t like cafe hopping or anything. I feel at peace when I visit my hometown, my paternal/maternal houses, Varanasi Ghats. I have 1.3 Cr INR but given I’m just 30. As per Finfluencer or by my sane calculation, this is not sufficient. Post marriage, this is certainly not enough. Should I take a break and assess or just keep pushing myself to earn more and then go for FIRE. Hoping for constructive feedback.

Just visited Mumbai last weekend, it has somehow gotten worse over the last 5-6 years. Every 3rd or 4th road is either under construction or unusable. This girl from bumble legit defended Mumbai being safer than other metros literally after an illegal billboard fell on innocent people. The "spirit of Mumbai" is Stockholm syndrome, most of the victims/residents just don't know it or have grown numb to it. Every year people die on local train tracks and platforms, no one cares enough to do anything concrete about it. Mumbai and Bangalore are both spiralling towards being borderline unliveable. Delhi NCR too to an extent. But the unfortunate reality is that they are economic hubs, hence people are forced to work there. Decentralisation is the need of the hour, tier 2 and 3 cities must prepare themselves for reverse migration in the next few decades. I'm planning the same for myself if all goes well. It's not worth slowly dying in poisoned cities.

There are a couple of personal reasons coz of which I want to change the job and city. I want to start interviewing in this already slow hiring. Should I make the extra effort for looking outside ?
