Is it just me or office parties don't work for you either?
Nothing against those who love them. It's just that I would rather like to spend the time with my plans. But often, you don't always have a choice.

Hated office parties from my bottom of the heart. The only reason i went is because my manager would get offended if we didn't turn up. I stil cant understand how people put upa fake smile and pretend everything is professional. But I did that too..

Bro but how do you start engaging with girls? You might look good right? For someone who doesn't girls don't even talk casually to them except work related.

Dating apps don't work for everyone bro 🥲. Downloaded in my hometown rarely got matches and even if I get will soon get ghosted.
It has always always helped me become closer with my coworkers
I wish I wasn’t an introvert who suddenly becomes extroverted with alcohol, I know it’s not the best - but it is how it is 🥲

Found the oversmart product manager who likes to take shower 2 times a day and prove a point in office parties as that's the only way people can get recognition and hikes in this profession, while the actual developers keep working on issues and features which bring revenue to the company.

I like office parties. But, I hate those guys who drink and misbehave. They think we are chaddi buddies and think it’s cool and ok to hug.
But on the other side there are good people as well whom you can bond with and talk . Maybe during office hours you might not have gotten a chance to work , or you want to understand something about a new technology or anything , you can seek their perspective.

We have every month. It's a small startup (~25) - we have unlimited drinks, play some sports or do some activity like we went for IPL, play golf, or arcade etc, food and back in 3-4 hours. It's nice especially in startups. If people are chill, you can have fun. Not every place is like that though, they judge XD
These are the worst. I understand team bonding etc etc... But hell no. I do not want to spend 1 weekend with my office folks once every month/quarter.
I'd rather like team lunch or a chai breaks. But outside work hours not so much.
I used to work with a startup and the only feedback I used to receive was "you should attend house parties that we host". It's great if you like them, but it shouldn't be a mandate. And i do not feel comfortable when I see them stoned and drunk and behaving super inappropriately (ps: this from a girl's POV) and have to work with them next Monday and act all professional.
Btw they spend 20k per person each quarter. Not as gareeb but full of perverts and idiots

Being a female in Delhi NCR you can always play safety card and not go for these.
Somehow these parties never happen during daytime so cool

I think it helps with team bonding and retention on employees due to better bonds in some ways.

Mine were best. Infact we bonded so well that our friendship lasted beyond the company. It depends on the people really.
I am going to an office party today. It helps you make deeper connections with co-workers so it's good. All the kanjoosi is off-putting though.
