Is tech the only way?

People who've worked in both product based and service based companies, what is the difference?

Here’s a brief intro about me: I’ve worked as both software engineering manager & software technical architect over the last 18+ years on various tech stacks managing backend, frontend and a little bit of cloud. I have seen ups and downs in the software industry. Currently I’m working as a senior architect in one of the product based companies in India.

Career progression in tech is great and no other sector/field comes even close to it. Even MBA from premier institutes matters only if you are joining IB/consulting post that. So the question is whats gonna happen? Every one tries to enter tech, AI may impact which is uncertain.. but where are the jobs for others?! Let's discuss

I have full stack development experience and I still code. I work with a product company on healthcare domain. I want to build something solo as a side hustle. And with the tech knowledge I have acquired, I am 100% confident I can build it. I’ve already gathered some mobile app/platform ideas and have been working on a few of them. Doing some research as well. The thing I lack is a strategy and direction to reach prospective users. I have no idea about how startups operate. I have never been into freelancing either. I know nothing about regulations and law. I have only a limited knowledge about investment. My short term plan is to finish building some MVP features of the apps and publish them to Playstore/AppStore. (I’m sorry, I do not wish to reveal the ideas now) How to reach users 0-1, 1-10 and 10-100? How should I plan financially? Isn’t it possible to go solo? I have someone in the US who has agreed to help me in coding. But he has only 2 years of experience. One advantage is he can give me US insights. I don’t want to induct more members as no one is ready for commitment. Or people just back out even after committing to it. Btw, I am not active on social media. My network in the internet world with people isn’t great. I’m seeking advice from you guys on areas that I need to consider to make my app/platform grow. All this, is going to be side hustle.

I see candidates with 2-4 years earning in 20LPA+ whereas sales and marketing folks who sit with 4-8LPA tops. Isn't the disparity too much?

Young SWE start with double digit salaries, while someone in Non tech will need 5-10 years to reach that level Even the business roles, the direct revenue generating roles don't pay good traditionally Funny how techies think everyone gets paid similar A lot of it changed with startups trying to acquire talent, but not sustainable Because the market simply doesn’t pay How do non tech compete with this skewed demand-supply chain?

Hi all, What are some of the Big Tech companies who have *core* global product teams based out of India? Most roles I can find are for charters that are backend internal systems / non-core product streams / customizations for APAC or India. This is understandable since US alongside being their HQ, is also their largest market commercially by far. But was curious to see if there are any teams within Big Tech that are bucking that trend, and are building core products from India offices too. Not restricted to FAANG but to Big Tech at large, including Walmart, Target, Stripe, Uber, Adobe etc.
