Is this what we call a democracy?
It has happened many times my friend, don't cry on this. 4 times the local leaders of J&K won unopposed due to last minute rejections. Recently, Dimple Yadav, wife of Akhilesh Yadav won unopposed.
Atleast think before you start defending your master. The Lok Sabha incident happened in 1989.
And itâs not about winning unopposed elections, itâs more about why did this happen in the first place. Why was everyone either disqualified or what happened that all of the independent candidates dropped their names. Care to explain that?
@Thomas_Shelby Dude, do you even know what happened? On filling nomination form, you need to have 3 proposers for you who will sign and verify your candidacy. Now, the opposition has legal right to object the proposers signatures. In this case, BJP asked the Congress candidate to get them signed again and he wasn't even able to call those people back. Thus, form rejected. If this is undemocratic, then please change the constitution as it is written there only.

Yes. We have clear rules which the opposition candidate wasn't interested in following.
Funny how easily you ignored the part where all the independent candidates dropped out and didnât even bother to defend that. đ¤Ł
6/15 were rejected. Rest withdrew on their own, whether BJP talked to them or not is immaterial. What's your problem?
Also, it's literally Gujarat. In the last state elections they got a historic majority. They don't even need to do weird shit to win.

Glad that the opposition candidate did not just drop himself from the 20th floor of the 3 storey building or not commit $uicide by shooting himself 20 times.

While overall it does looks suspicious since all candidates together found some justification to drop out .. but BJP really doesnât needs tactics like this at least in Gujarat. BJP seems to be on overdrive go mode to win any how and maybe even places were ideally the game is in their favour they are not taking chances . This is just a wild ass guess. Honestly looking at the current situation itâs reasonable to assume GUjrat wonât be lost. đ
