JIO Cinema hot take.
I know JIO Cinema has a great engineering team and lots of money but i really don't like the product. UI feels cluttered, livestream also feels pixalated anyone else feels the same. I really liked hotstar honestly and i was expecting jiocinema would be same as the tech team is pretty much same.
Hot take. Who says their team is that great. It's all indian developers with more focus on big terms and less substance.
Maybe they are not good and i am just delusional
I believe it's more so a company culture issue. If the management probably wants features to be delivered in a short deadline even if the quality suffers, that's what happens
Also their culture to me seems to be more oriented for cashgrab than user experience. It took Netflix many years before they went to the deliver ads bandwagon. Jiocinema implemented it right from the start.
Netflix has tech Blogs because they work on leading edge work for search engine, recommendation system, in house tools for development. Innovation brings about new inventions, not pure greed. Jiocinema strategy is same as Jio: play on initial low cost, buy out the dying or non existent competition and then make everyone used to Jio Platform. EU or American like regulatory would have warned them already of monopolistic practices but here we are
Agreed, It’s like they are not even trying. Their app on Android TV is the worse, barely works
That 18+ popup is so annoying man and sometime it goes for a infinite reload in the android tv. I mean i absolutely don't care about 10 camera angles for a cricket match instead they should do the basic right.
As a person who has done work of working with webcams, screen recording and combined streams with WebRTC, they are making a stupid mistake of not delaying the actual stream playback before the 18+ window or returning a promise. That button probably changes a variable to be true which allows actual playback So when the stream arrives before the window, that variable is false which triggers the infinite loader
Can drop many names but wont do but there's an xyz group made by NRI A and helped by Jio cinema employee B they basically take people who does some ass licking over there and they get good referals ( cant say how how the interview is done as I am no one to judge anyone's standards or potential)
Spill the initials common

UI is cluttered - yes, they really need to improve on that front
But with live streams, I feel they did super well with the quality during the World Cup. Hotstar never nailed 4K live streams.
Agree. Even for IPL they overcame the initial hiccups super fast. Good streaming experience, but app still looks like a hot mess.
Not sure how true is their 4k because yesterday india vs Australia match quality was very pixalated although my internet was absolutely fine.
What's the salary range in JIO?
Jio Cinema Feedback
Hey @championswimmer
I use hotstar, Netflix, Sony LIV and Prime as premium user and all of them are doing great.
Only #jiocinema looks like lagging.
Apart from crashes and memes, few honest feedbacks and suggestions.

Rant on JioCinema as a platform
Frankly it is quite shitty, the entire UX. It is down quite frequently (at least for me), the homepage itself doesn't load just shows a black screen with the ghost loading for titles, a lot of the times the posters for movies are interch...
