I am 24 and It's been 2 years in the IT industry not earning but gaining knowledge. But I fear Like Will I be that capable to Bring everything for my family. Am I going to survive in this industry for a long time or should  I go for the GOVERNMENT JOB so that Our family can have a stable income and Peace full life with less salary. Unlike in IT No security of Job and for the next 10 years I have to compete to stay alive in IT. 

I AM GOING THROUGH A CONFUSION PHASE DOING NOTHING PRODUCTIVE IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.

I have 12 years of experience in IT industry and I have been only with 3 firms so far. Primary reason for job change has always been relocation as my personal life changed during these times. I have always been a top performer since the very beginning and I have been a manager too. But now I start loosing interest and I want to know what options do I have if I don’t want to scale up the ladder anymore. I just want to continue to remain in work to support my family but at the same time I don’t want to feel pressured to grow in career. I feel IT is not a place to retire but I don’t know what other options exist. All the technologies that I worked so hard for are almost becoming obsolete and I’m at a point where I don’t know what to do. Finding job scares me just as much as staying in the current one.

Is anyone experienced beyond 15 years and are yet just Sr. Consultants or managers and what are your thoughts?

I am in IT industry from past 6 years though not really invested(mind) into it. I was preparing for civil services for 4 years couldn't crack it as other failed aspirants (yet learnt lot in life).
From past 2 years learning to be IT professional but yet something is lacking in me to ace it. Now i wanted to switch company and grab new opportunities but fear of layoffs is holding me back to do that. And as i have more yoe but less knowledge compared to industry standards.
Will i be able to crack it ? And take up new challenges in life ? Will i be able to go through interview process and be successful at it?

I recently got selected as a IT Officer in a PSB as PLSQL Developer.
Should I join the PSB or upskill as a Data Engineer.

What would be the wise choice ?
Can any one help me with this like the work culture and career progression in both ?

I am aged 30 ,UM ,Male , have been working in IT for close to 9 years now . But I never had an option to quit this job  due to my family financial situations. Now I saved enough money for my parents. I want to switch my career to Semiconductors technology (Chip designing, Physical design etc ). I don’t have any prior experience or not even workshops experience in that field but I always wanted to be. It might sound like foolish thought, but I feel like hell here doing this job without any interest (but I always received outstanding feedback from my leadership as well as clients). If I continue here , my next designation would be Manager.

Long story but here are my questions …

1. Should I continue in IT or switch my career ? 
2. I won’t get same package as that I m getting ryt now But Does organisations accept my reason and provide an opportunity aa fresher ? 
3. As I m unmarried and don’t have anyone other than my parents as my dependents and habituated to a peaceful for quite some time, Is it a good decision to pursue my career now , knowing the fact that I might struggle with financial needs.? 

Your genuine answer could help people like me who are trapped in this kind of dilemma.. TIA

I am from non-tech background but I need technical job. 
I did BSc in 2020 and thought to do goverment job preparation but due to some tragedy happend in my family I was unable to do anything for my career for more than 2 years and after that I got to know that I can learn skills and apply for IT jobs. I have done course on fullstack in 2023 but i did not got a single call or job offer for fresher. I am really fed up now and depressed. I have to look after me myself and do everything bcz of no leader in my family. Plesse suggest me what shall I do. Is it fine to apply jobs with fake experience? Will that help and will it be fine?

I am a regular 3.5 yr exp web dev. I joined Grapevine, just to express my inner thoughts and it's much better to be anonymous.

I got stuck in a void !!! Rn what I a getting is much less as per my experience. The daily routine seriously makes me feel I am a worthless and unskilled person. The type of person who if quits his job will never find another all because I am not good at anything. The main fight is I want to switch to some PM or consultant role but I am filled up with self-doubt and scared of thinking that I am unskilled regular labour, who has somehow gotten into IT...

Whether you call it self doubt/laziness /indiscipline things are not helping me to grow and crack a new job with a better daily routine.

Appreciate your suggestion/feedback.

But please help me and suggest to me how can I get into a technical consultant or any managerial role.

Hi all, 
I am a software engineer in a * company. But here the point is about myself, i don't like to code at all, infect i hate it now, but still i am doing it , because i have no choice, i can't leave it nor my family will be  supportive about it. I know its the best work in today's time but not for me. I also got promoted and been on a good pay (acc to exp). But i just don't want to do this job at all. My brain is affecting to a large extent , i have been hiding it from my family. I have a lot of headaches and tension of work like how am i going to do this. Because of having no interest in this, i am not improving my knowledge in this field, which have created fear about switching jobs. I forgets concepts , but i am able to work , don't know how, but i am afraid how long will i survive. My life is ahead me, many responsibilities lying ahead, but also i dont want to do this. What should i do ? Please help me , i can see only one option and that the very last option.
