I am currently working in the automation testing team at TCS as a fresher. Previously, I have experience with C++ (Data Structures and Algorithms) and Python (Django). I am now looking to transition into a full stack developer role but am a bit confused about which tech stack to choose.
Being in this industry for so long, what would be your advice on which tech stack offers better opportunities, competitive salaries, and remote work options?

Looking at current trend people tends more towards MERN but the trend is slowly shifting to Java, but you already know python and django so why not learn fastApi or flask and some frontend framework and go for full stack. Think about it.
Why don't you learn both, get into any java Spring boot project, you will learn most of the concepts in 1 year. In parallel start learning JavaScript. make a CRUD app using MERN (use learning resources provided by your organization). Learning JS will not go in vain, you can always use it in the front end even if you stick with the Spring boot backend.
MERN has picked up a lot in past few years and actively used in startups and small to medium size applications that demands rapid development. Lot of startups are offering very good pay for MERN stack. Having said that, Java is still the preferred choice for enterprise world, large scale applications that require complex business logic. Spring boot rules the java eco system and widely used in all big enterprise companies.
It all comes down to your choice, if ur looking for stable job in service companies, investment banks etc java is always preferred choice. If ur looking for start ups with higher pay, a bit of risk taker, you can opt for MERN.
