Hi everyone, I’m planning to goto USA for higher studies! But I’m not sure which course to take! I’ve done my BE in Information science and currently working as a software developer in a startup (spring boot) please suggest me the course which gives me good job opportunity in US! I can’t decide because I don’t know these factors and I’m not that considerate on passion. I’m kind of adaptive!

Confused if i should go for MS CS from USA or stay in India, how would you decide?

I have almost 5 years of experience as a software engineer in India.

Its been a long time now, that i am confused if i should go to US for MS considering i will have to take up a loan of 50 lakhs.

Also the layoffs are here, probably scenario will be good once the MS is over (May ‘24) , and i might be able to repay the loan.

It seems like a huge step and a risky one.

My motivation for US are
1. Foreign Exposure and Experience
2. Bank Balance for better retirement in India
As IT is uncertain and we never know what might happen in future.

What are your thoughts on this, what factors should i consider?

I am currently working as an software developer (5+ years experience)with around 40LPA CTC. 

Most of the people in my circle have gone there 2-3 years back.

Now I am having a fear of missing out, I applied for a few universities and I have got an admit in MS in CS. 

Is it worth it to migrate to another country and start again at this point of my career? What is your opinion on work in USA compared to India?

Need some experienced folks with honest answers please.

Hey everyone I’m a fresher with around 6 months of experience as a java developer in a start up! I was thinking about doing MS in USA, but not sure what course, How & When,  But I’m sure it’ll help me and my poor family to level up, and also I dont have any godfather or dearly relative to help with the required knowledge, thought this’ll be the better platform to ask my questions! How is it guys? Will it worth to spend 50L+ to study in US n get a job there? Whats the success rate? Will I be able to do it? Does it require more talent than it takes to do it in India? PS: I studied my BE, ISE at NIE Mysore(which is one of the very good colleges in Karnataka) I’m afraid that if I can do it! Will I ever be able to get a job in US!! Please help me guys with your detailed answers.

Is anyone working or has worked for US based product companies as a Product Manager?

If yes, then needed to understand the following

1. Work culture and office hours
2. Type of work compared to top Indian product companies 
3. Did you go down in your designation compared to previous designation in an Indian product company. Was it worth as you would have a better designation in India during that time period.
4. Long term prospects of getting called to work in US permanently or short term.

Would be helpful as I am evaluating a job opportunity.

I know the title might seem weird. But here’s my dilemma 
Working as an SDE with 3 YOE in an product based company remotely. Have some developer + PM experience in a small startup before
I never took DSA seriously and just learnt the basics a long time ago. I was appreciated at the startup about how I did PM work even though I wasn’t one officially. Shipped a couple of MVPs on my own as a side gig(had around 100-200 users) 

 I miss some big tech experience definitely. So should I grind DSA and look for big SDE switch even though I don’t like it much or move to product ( the pay might be affected) or do an MBA and then do product (for strong credentials/chances)? I feel maybe I am scared to do DSA/System design since I don’t find total interest in it. 

If DSA, any suggestion on a very good course, paid/free doesn’t matter.

My final goal - build great products and learn everything about what it takes to build them.

Study DSA in depth to build world class products or become a PM?

I am at the final stage of selecting the right Master's program to propel my career transition into product management roles within tech giants like MAANG or management consultancy positions in MBB or Big 4 firms. I intend to settle/ immigrate from India to a Western/ developed country post-MBA and finding a job will be my highest priority as I am taking a loan to finance my total fees and cost of living abroad.  
  
I have offers from  
  
1. TIAS School of Business MBA, Utrecht, Netherlands (Tuition Fee coming down to 29000 euros after scholarship),  +11000 euros for the cost of living.

Pros: 
-Strong economy and relatively less competitive job market
-Best quality of life in the world with healthcare,etc
- less stressful immigration process and life, wlb

Cons: 
-Less salary and 40% income tax
- horrible housing crisis(worse than mumbai)so a good portion of salary will go in that and will have to share a flat with people after MBA.
-The MBA and any business school in Europe after the top 3 is not greatly valued there. It's your past experience that matters so career switching will be tricky 
-weather
- socializing hurdles with locals
  
2. Duke University, NC, USA : for a Master of Science in Engineering Management Program, 66000 USD Tuition fees. The cost of living can be easily covered with part time jobs.
  
I am seeking advice to make an informed decision along with some feedback about the best place to live for me. I have heard mixed feedback on job prospects due to the current market challenges. But, a few years back the alumni from these programs got into the positions I aim to work at.  
  
Profile: 25 M. Previously worked for 6 months as a Tech Project Manager at a VC. Currently, I'm a Scrum Master at a renowned British FinTech MNC and will have 3.4 years of total full-time experience (only in leadership roles ) by the time I enroll in any course in Sept 2024. Only proficient in English, open to other languages if necessary. TIA.

Suggestions on MBA after 1 yr JOB exp in a MNC .
I really need genuine discussions, I am confused so as to prepare for MBA or upskill in development & DSA for some startups.
I find DSA quite difficult even after solving good no of questions.

I'm currently working as a software engineer in India, with TC 45LPA and 2 years of experience. I'm thinking about applying for a Master's in CS in the USA for fall 2024. But I'm not sure if I want to settle there or not currently. Should I make the move considering things are going well in India? Getting a job directly in the US seems close to impossible. Any advice? I could list some things which came on top of my mind -

Pros of Software Engineer job in India-
1.  Good salary
2. Folks are friendly and helpful generally 
3. Living near to family 

Cons- 
1. WLB is non existent in most private companies.
2. Pollution in Delhi NCR
3. Politics and favouritism in workplace 
4. Immense competition to get/switch job

Also considering the layoffs and difficult job market in US,
Is it worth to take a huge loan and leave all the comforts?

I work in one of Big 4 companies as a front-end developer. I am currently learning the backend as my project doesn't have any FE work. There are lots of politics now in my team as compared to the previous year, i was denied a well-deserved promotion for some weird reasons, and the hike was low too. Decided to do bare minimum work now and focus on studying for switch.

Could anyone please help on how to get started on preparation for DSA and what other things to focus on to secure a product based company?
