I wanted to share my CTC journey and looking to seek your opinion on this!

Joined Fintech(Paytm) last year with 3.5 YOE - 31LPA(Base)
[Current] LaidOff but Got an offer in a SaaS company during my NP - 31LPA(Base)

YOE - 4.5 Years

Most of the companies I interviewed for were not able to match my current fixed because of which I took this offer. Now I feel like my Base is low as compared to the market average in terms of YOE which makes me worry about my career’s progression. Do you also feel the same? 

But at the same time I am grateful that in this job market, I have got a job. What do you think? Am I rationally thinking here? I live with my parents and they are partially dependent on me. I hope I have made a correct decision.

Working in a startup, with 5 YoE, what's the top 5 %ile salary?

Recently, I've been observing a concerning trend that I haven't observed before in my 5 years in this industry. 

A large no. of job openings are coming up at mid-sized companies and startups that require 5+ years of experience but pay 7-12 LPA. One of these companies even used to pay a decent more when I'd applied to it a few years before

Does anyone have insights on the root causes behind this trend and how it will shape up the job market going forward?

My hypotheses on root causes:-
(1) Bad job market
(2) Advent of AI

A brief about me, I work currently as a Sr. ML Engineer at an Indian unicorn startup 
I graduated 5+ years ago and have since worked as a Data Scientist / ML Engineer at an ecommerce company and social media company. My designations have changed based on the industry requirements and work too changed based on that.

Is it really the trend now? Am I unaware? I see pay range in 6figr & other websites but don't see the pay scale of 40-50 very often except for full funded startups, MBBs.

What is the reality of pay range by professions for exp 3-5 years?
