Moving to Bangalore

I have found a nice place in J p nagar . The only problem is that my office location is Bellandur. Will it be convenient for me to travel from Jp nagar to Bellandur thrice a week.

Thrice a week should be manageable. Although I am concerned about how rain will mess things up. See if you can find something closer.

Thanks. Office will provide cabs both side and mostly shift will be afternoon so I will be skipping peak hours.

Oh that's a relief. You will just have to leave a bit early and either work done in cab or get some shut eye. Also, going by your timing mentioned in another post, you won't have much trouble when going for work. You will have to spend a lot more time in traffic when returning home though. Especially if it rains.

HSR Layout is your ideal option if you want to travel to Bellandur for work. Nearest area and the area itself has no problems as such.

Although, you can plan your travel better. Usually at 11am, the traffic would’ve reduced. And in the evenings it’s either at 5pm or post 8:30/9pm only.

How about BTM? I have friends in BTM and that will make my life somewhat easier in Bangalore. Can I consider BTM then. Also my wife works in Koramangala so I want to travel more and what her to travel less.

BTM is definitely a better option considering it’ll be closer to Koramangala. Only catch is, you’ll have to get through Silk Board traffic to reach your office. It’s a very bad congestion zone.

HSR on the other hand will give you a much better access to both Koramangala as well as Bellandur.

Better move closer to your office. I had the same route till last year. It's very hectic and soon it will start raining regularly.

Ok. Shall I choose BTM. ? I went there today and it seems like good place. Just that rent is on higher side.

Yes. BTM or HSR both are good options.

Hosur main road is always jammed.. and even the outer ring road. During rains, expect 2x-3x but jp nagar is a really nice place to live

SquishyTaco
SquishyTaco

I am really confused. Office timings will be mostly 1 to 9.30 in the evening. And office has provided cabs as well.

GoofyDonut

Oh, that’s a non peak time, you’ll be able to reach in around 40m easily, less when that metro line opens haha

Go for it. I travel twice a week and stay around 25km from my office. I travel around 2-2.5 hours per day (office cab) and just take a nap when travelling.

Bellandur - you can either live in north or south

North - Marathahalli
Varthur

South - Sarjapur Road Haralur
HSR

JP nagar to Bellandur will take easy 1, 1.5hours
Whitefield is also an option but it will also take 1 hour

Takes about an hour in peak traffic, one way - so this is 6 hours of commute every weak. It’s also very costly, auto will be 300 one way and cab will be 400-500 one way (if you get one - which, during peak traffic, you will not get quickly, so add 20-30 minutes every day to wait for Uber Ola)

JP Nagar is a great place to stay though so think through

Move closer to Bellandur. Might cost a bit more but you will be very thankful. Especially on rainy days. By rainy days I mean even 5 mins of drizzle. If it is 30 minutes of rain, God save you.
