NPS vs Mutual Fund

I invested in Mutual fund through SIP. Total profit was 6k after 1 year (Total invested amount around 60k) Today I saw monthly NPS statement of June 2024 month. This NPS contribution consist of company contribution and person contribution of ₹100 per month. Total gain is 13399 for 60397 total contribution. I am surprised to see higher returns on my NPS than my Mutual fund investment.

Your mutual fund is not good. Change it. Just 10% in last year is bad returns. Couldn't beat even index

My NPS XIRR is 19%. I believe its much underrated considering the fact that you save upfront 30% tax on investments. I have been contributing since 2019 or so.

Is investing in NPS worth it?

Should we invest in NPS if you are falling under higher tax bracket of ~30%? I am having income of 20+ LPA. I did some calculations investing same amount of money in mutual fund sip the return is much higher than NPS. What confuses me is it actually worth just for saving tax on 50k? As I only intend to invest 50k for tax purposes only. Please kindly suggest some for your thoughts and insight.

Hi folks, I have recently started investing after repeatedly being told to not hoard my money in savings, wanted to know how/how much other people invest. Current portfolio: Equity: 2.5 L ( banking, fmcg, ETFs) Mutual Funds: 1.1 L ( Navi Index fund - 10 k per month sip, SBI Liquid Fund - 10k per month) I feel that I should invest more since i dont have any financial dependents on me right now, but dont know how much and dont want to put my hard earned money somewhere I won’t see it ever. Suggest best pension plan to invest in

Hi, I am thinking of buying a pension plan through which I could get a good fixed monthly income after I retire ( let's assume 60 years). I am currently 32 year old and looking to invest around 20k per month. I am currently working with a startup.I first thought about NPS and also some plans on Policybazar. I founds that plans mentioned on Policybazar like Tata AIA life insurance capital guarantee solution can offer upto 6.5L/month tax free income after I turn 60 with just 20K investment per month for next 12 years. Where as if I invest 20 k per month in NPS till i turn 60 I will only get 1.8 lakhs per month I want to understand 1. Why is there such a huge gap in the return amount between NPS and retirement plans available on policybazar 2. How to select the best retirement plan 3. What are the top pension plans available in the market currently 4. Any other better way to plan retirement
