Bold of you to keep "non-toxic" and "startup" in the same sentence. š

People are toxic and they make organisations. Hence, organisations are toxic.
Many Indian startups are vanity projects by rich, often nepotistic, spoiled brats.
For the rare, struggling founders trying to build something good, I have the utmost respect.
Unfortunately, I haven't met many of that kind and that is saying something having worked with startups in consulting, VC and now full-time.
Mostly it is rich people trying to get richer, with a complete disregard for business ethics.
Hope to find a few more founders like Mr. Ganesh B of Flatheads, a genuinely good person.

Each and every company is toxic at a certain level depending upon your team/vertical. Doesn't matter if it's a startup or MNC.

KodeKloud. Full remote and great wlb.
HyperVerge. Worked there as an intern, sadly didnāt convert it, but it was the best place. Best people, company has a good vision, best practices followed. Really a good place.

Product roles = large org = heterogeneous culture even within the company's different teams
If you want non toxic culture, better to join early stage startups with less thanā 50 people, ideally less than 25
VC backed (especially softbank vision funded) startups are all by default toxic. The CXOs work to please their investors. So they donāt care about employees. They use the VC money to get the work done and fire them.
Look for bootstrapped companies like Zoho & Zerodha, GrabOn. You can expect decent work policies here. I wouldnāt call them perfect but better than VC funded startups.
