I think 6-7 years across nobody would have imagined Zomato and PayTM would be in such polar opposite zones

How true is this? Can anyone who has inside info from Paytm confirm this?
Something similar happened when RBI imposed restrictions in Feb and there were news articles of JioFin acquisition of Paytm. It was later ruled out as rumours.

I got into stocks like Zomato and Paytm when they IPOd expecting for them to rally up as many people did (I assume).

Will tech stocks recover?

Selling IPhones and PS-5, people will pay a few hundred bucks as platform fee. And when the start selling cars on Blinkit, then Dilli bohot dur nahi.

- Zomato's shares worth Rs 5,438.50 crore were sold in a block deal on August 20, with Antfin Singapore Holding likely being the seller.
- The transaction involved 21 crore shares, representing a 2.4 percent stake, sold at a floor price of Rs 258 apiece, a nearly 2 percent discount over the previous closing price.
- Following the deal, Zomato's shares fell over 1 percent, trading at Rs 259.20 on the NSE at 09.21 am.
- Antfin Singapore Holding, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group, owned a 4.3 percent stake in Zomato and the sale triggers a 90-day lock-in period before another equity dilution.
- The stake sale follows Zomato's quarterly earnings report, which showed a net profit surge of 126.5 times to Rs 253 crore, driven by increased platform fees and improved operational profitability in Blinkit.

I’m wondering where did VSS got the cash to buy 10% of PayTM. Some rough estimates suggest it would be at least $500 million. That’s a lot of cash or is my rough math wrong. 

Did he do something like Ritesh/Oyo buyback which was peculiar or could it be at a discount. 

I’m wondering if anyone has any thoughts or idea if what could happen.
