I received this email from ClearTax saying there is a discrepancy on my ITR filed in July. But when I logged into the ITR portal it says filed successfully. There is no notice on the portal. 
Is this some marketing gimmick from ClearTax?

Anyone has any idea? Appreciate your help thanks.

Quite curious about this because my understanding is that government is more watchful about cash credits. So would transactions like someone paying u through Wise/Brex/Paypal and the likes get recorded with expectation of us declaring it as extra income for tax ? I am not talking of inward remittance. Another example is u held some paytm gold for few years but now u sell some of it. Is it ok not to mention any of this while filing ITR? Anyone has some experience do share.

If a credit doesn’t show up in AIS, is it still tracked/recorded for tax?

I filed ITR yesterday via ClearTax. It was super smooth unlike the experience I had two years back. Had to pay 1.6k as it was classified as ITR3.

It automatically pulled data from Savings bank / FD interest details and from Groww. So had no manual entry in any step. Finally had to pay unlike last time (even for the unassisted process) and then even the step in IT portal was done automatically (via the APIs)

Overall, it went well and I could file in about 20 min.

Just wondering if it's all good or should I be worried if anything went wrong? Should I get a second review from any CA?

Note: I had to pay about 12k tax which CT calculated and I have paid the same.

Anyone here who got the notice from income tax regarding mismatch in form 16 and return filled?

I did not get chance to declare investments to my previous employer and they deducted a big amount of money.

Post that in itr i declared a bit more but now got a mail that there is mismatch in form 16 and itr filled.

They have given 2 option:
1. Claim that declared itr is true to the best of knowledge.
2. Revise the return.

I have filled ITR 3 days ago where in TIS the interest from Savings account showing 'x' amount but when I filled the ITR2 in other income schedule I find the savings account interest showing there 'y' ( y < x) and I still filled the ITR and pay the amount as tax on the basis of that 'y' extra amount on my income. Now what will happen in my case.
Do I get a notice or get a penalty? What should I do now?

I joined a company in a business/product role last October, realised it is not at all what i was told in terms of culture and expected work( detailed reason not important to the advice I need). Basic training was going on and i resigned in 13 days. It was an amicable resignation with my hiring manager(great guy btw) and org boss. HR said we will not pay you a salary as to adjust against  waiving off of notice period and stuff. I felt at that time it is ok as I did not wanted to serve the notice period(what is the point anyways). I also felt it is not justified to take that salary and wanted to quickly move to next steps. No money hits my bank account from the company as of writing this post.

Cut to this year June, I see an information mentioning a salary being paid to me for that October month while going through my TIS and AIS forms on ITR portal.
I reached out to the company as to clarify this.
I wanted them to provide me with a salary slip and form 16 at least if after all they are saying a salary is paid. 
They are not providing that saying it is adjusted.
I have a few questions here.

1. If a salary(more than 80k)  is mentioned in my tax(even it was so called adjusted), I must be provided with a salary slip right?
2. Am I missing something and am I in the wrong here?
3. What should be my next steps, I don’t want that  salary but shouldn’t they provide the salary slip and form 16 if it mentions it on my tax documents?

I did not wanted them on my employment history hence wanted no such hassle and here we are.
Need some inputs from people who understand these things. HRs or any other folks in the know.

Finally processed my ITR after multiple follow ups, and they have shared difference amount
Let's say Tax I calculated was Rs X
Tax Govt calculated Rs Y
I agree with Y, and Y minus X = Rs 2660. No problem paying that

But, the demand says payable amount is Rs Y
But I have already paid Rs X. Why haven't they considered that?
I should be paying the difference now.

What to do in this situation?

Hi folks, I am filing ITR and I find complete mismatch between the IT portal data of FD interest earning, and my Banks’ data. I checked all the forms- Form 26AS, AIS/TIS, traces portal. But none of them match with Banks’ data. What should I do? For one Bank, the interest amount is highly undervalued, and for the other Bank, it seems highly overvalued. Any quick way to find? Which should be considered the definitive record of interest earned?

How to find total Interest Earned from FDs?

Heyy folks, will be highly thankful for any clue. I am entering LTCG of just 59K, and yet ITR starts charging 20% tax on it. I have already tried entering it in different-different sections, but nothing worked. Now, I am thinking to delete the current saved form and start all over again, just in case it is some temporary issue on their side with their serve side caching? Where exactly the LTCG needs to be entered that, that 1 lakh exemption is obtained?

It was a mistake that I selected the new regime thinking that it would be easy to switch back to old one during ITR Filing, but now I do not have proofs such as the premium amount paid (for parental and self insurance taken from company), sodexo vouchers received, since nothing is mentioned in the Form 16. Is my salary slip enough for showing as proof if I receive a notice, or is it necessary to have separate receipts for these deductions that I will be claiming? Anyone else in a similar condition as I am, please share your experience.
