Recent trends in salary hikes within Indian IT companies

TCS has consistently provided 100% variable pay to its junior employees over the past few quarters. The company has also announced salary increments ranging from 4.5% to 7% for its employees, with top performers receiving double-digit raises.

For Software engineers with 7/8 years of experience or access to relevant data points, can someone tell me the following: Pay structure and salary increment in 2016-2019 cycle vs 2019-2023 cycle I have a feeling that a lot of SEs here have an inherent sense of entitlement, that they deserve a salary X / WFH / other covid perks... which is primarily pegged to the madness of 2020-22, where they were getting abnormal salary increments. My hypothesis is that they are still better off in 2019-23 cycle vs 2016-19 cycle. Thoughts?

Genuinely curious! Like I graduated about 4 years ago from an NIT and started with 40k pm for an analytics role, now everyone I see is earning atleast 12lpa after tax?

Folks, I wanted to make a prediction that most of us pretty much know already 2023 our salaries haven’t grown at all. Across my group of friends at work and college, the average amount of increment I heard is close to 5%

People in tech are in over their heads. There’s been an unsustainable inflation in salaries and somehow 20 somethings have actually started believing their skills are worth what they’re making I speak to so many engineers who just with two years of experience are making 30-40 LPA packages. They actually believe they are better than people in say banking who make the same salary after 15 years of grinding it out. It’s all supply-demand. Supply will soon catch up to the demand. Salary normalization will happen. Your salaries may not grow for years if you don’t personally grow as well in skill set and become more valuable overall. At the least, don’t have an attitude about how much you make. Stay humble. Enjoy the good times while they are still here
