Rejected by ex-company after MBA, was a high performer

Completed my MBA from An Indian Tier 1 college and applied for a marketing role (my previous role was non marketing, but I did some offline stuff) Was amongst the best performers and the company is one of the popular ones in the country rn. When I applied again for a marketing role, I got interviewed once long back and have been waiting for a revert. Worst Part - I know someone has been hired for the part and she is a friend. The person who was handling my application is a great guy, have met him personally before my former stint. Dont know why would they not give a rejection letter. Really need to move on but cannot because this will always be my dream company and was also the profile I have been reeling for. Tell what to do!
