Relocating to Delhi from Pune

I have spent most of my working life (about 17 years) in Pune barring a few years outside India for an onsite assignment.

During the initial phase of my career I was always desperate to relocate to NCR which is close to my hometown, say 12 hrs by train or road, unlike 24-36 hrs from Pune.

However I feel a bit confused now about it. I am not sure how easy/difficult and stupid/wise it would be to make a move now.

Any suggestions feedback?

I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you want to inhale toxic fumes few months every year. Or deal with rowdies.

Great to move near hometown. Congrats. Many people are waiting to move to hometown but aren't able to.

For someone like me who has lived in both cities now. Home town Delhi and work place Pune, Delhi is multitudes better at everything from transport options to food. You'll enjoy being in Delhi a lot more because of the sheer convenience of day to day life. Beat the weather with an AC, raincoat and leather jacket

Go for it, people in north are more welcoming than pune blr and actually cheaper too. Don’t listen to those who just keep complaining around pollution and security. Its not the same everywhere. I have stayed in Delhi and Noida for around 5 years and liked every bit of it including people, food, localities etc

I've recently shifted to pune from blr and honestly I'm not liking pune at all. Finding a decent place to stay is like an astronomical task although less expenses. The city does not offer much for recreation or maybe I'm in the dark. Well less traffic could be one of the deal breaker.

P.S. If you have any suggestions I would like to know.

Go ahead

It’s a great city with mixture of everything from history to food to weekend getaways and transport
Just be precautious of the safety and that oct-Nov pollution
Rest the pollution is almost same now everywhere and if you like winters then that Dilli ki Shardi is do die for

Your office is in Delhi? Or will it be Noida/ggn? If it's Noida, it's better because rent is cheaper than ggn, wide roads and no water logging during rain.
