The Smart Cities euphoria has waned. It is absent from election promises and in the bragging of ministers. The project was supposed to be completed by June 2021. 100 cities were selected for the project. Turns out to be one more jumla among many!

Where have all the 100 ‘smart’ cities gone?

- Govt greenlights project to build 12 industrial smart cities across 10 states
- ₹28,602 crore earmarked for manufacturing push along 6 major industrial corridors
- Project expected to create 10 lakh direct and 30 lakh indirect jobs
- 'Plug-n-play' and 'walk-to-work' concepts to be implemented in world-class greenfield cities
- Aim to boost exports to $2 trillion by 2030, aligning with 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' vision

Just visited Mumbai last weekend, it has somehow gotten worse over the last 5-6 years. Every 3rd or 4th road is either under construction or unusable. 

This girl from bumble legit defended Mumbai being safer than other metros literally after an illegal billboard fell on innocent people.

The "spirit of Mumbai" is Stockholm syndrome, most of the victims/residents just don't know it or have grown numb to it.

Every year people die on local train tracks and platforms, no one cares enough to do anything concrete about it.

Mumbai and Bangalore are both spiralling towards being borderline unliveable. Delhi NCR too to an extent. But the unfortunate reality is that they are economic hubs, hence people are forced to work there.

Decentralisation is the need of the hour, tier 2 and 3 cities must prepare themselves for reverse migration in the next few decades. I'm planning the same for myself if all goes well. It's not worth slowly dying in poisoned cities.

I was doing a tax plan for the next FY. 

A significant chunk is going off my hard earned money 😔 for which I get 🔔 from govt. 

I hardly use any public facilities , or can simply  say they do not exist and are not up to mark 

Any Tom and harry comes and starts  freebies for his noble cause of votes which tax payers like me are not eligible to be benefitted  even if I want to take any . 

Why the heck I have been taxed so much . 

Even if you get variable pay this month which was already taxed with TDS and If I invest in MF lumpsum  and get some gains . The whole amount will again be taxed that too according to my tax bracket .

Although I am not considering indirect taxation which is another curse we all are facing . 

Is everyone pissed with this tax story or simply ignore and move on to pay more tax and grind more .

Many bhakts asking which smart City to move out to from Delhi. They are also not able to find the 100 smart cities.

There have been many more examples since we gained independence in 2014.

Yes, many people have seen Narendra Modi personally mixing low quality Cement and other materials while building the constructions. We should vote for Rahul who did Masters in Architecture and the Taj Mahal, Red Fort and other constructions built by him still stands good.

Bro, you are earning. Shouldn't you just be grateful that you are not born in war torn Afghanistan or disease ridden Africa. I mean life could be so much worse. In fact, the only difference between you and the office boy is the household you were born in. If that office boy was born in your home, he probably would be as successful as you. 

You already won the lottery. Why not just do your part and pay the income tax so that the tax money can be used to provide a better life to those who are unprivileged.

I am not excusing the corruption in the system but just find the cribbing unbearable

Why do people keep ranting about income tax

Oh, I thought this must be some smart argument, the moment I read “difference between you & the office boy is the household…”.  
  
 No bro, it’s no so simple. People work hard to make a living. People crib about taxes because some of us are paying ‘first world rates with third world facilities’. Only single digit % of population is bearing the load of rest-of-population. Even corporate tax rates are < Salary tax rates.

Limited metro
Highly unreliable buses
Carpooling banned
Bike taxis banned
Mafia autos
Dug up streets
Eternally unfinished flyovers
Limited wide roads
Shit road to road connections
Extremely few pedestrian crossings/bridges
Slow & bad metro planning 
Regular water logging

Officials think congestion tax will solve problem. Basically we'll not do our work, but will tax you for using roads. What a bunch of clowns
