I want to know the right time to switch? How much time should someone with 5-7 yrs of experience in product / business strategy spend in one company (ideally)?
Context: I am in a product strategy role where I am working with the founders and leadership team. I have done engineering and MBA from tier 1 colleges. I have 2 yrs of pre MBA and 4.2 yrs of post MBA experience. My Annual compensation is the range of 35-40 lpa. Post MBA, I have done a startup for 1.5 yrs, worked in 2 unicorns for 1 yr each. In a serious B funded startup right now with 9 months of experience.
There is no right time to switch. There are right reason(s) to switch, which include - right reason(s) to leave the current company and right reason(s) to join a specific company.
The moment you start feeling comfortable with a company that is the time for you to start investing on your prof skills and as long you are up to date with the industry skills you can stick to the co I.e in other words at any point of time you should ensure that you services would be demanded by other entities
