I compared many SDE vs data scientist/ engineer CTC which were public.
I can see data roles are paid less .
Is it true? Many consider data roles as less coding(tech) roles. Why?
Depends. Applied Scientist roles eat every SDE role for breakfast.
But don't they take only masters and above students? The barrier for entry is high, naturally the pay would be higher.
What is the general pay for that in FAANGs?
How much higher do applied scientist roles pay in India? And how much higher is it than sde?

Bcz of the outburst of ai I feel there are a lot of data scientist/machine learning engineer/data engineer roles in the market and sde roles have bcz very scarce with 1000s of applications Should ppl shift to these roles from sde ?
