SaaS product you’d pay 100 / month for?

I work in the Data Privacy and protection domain. You won't believe me if I said we are spending $M on BigId and OneTrust apps (including infra cost for on prem). As an SME and power user of these apps I can tell you they are spreadsheets with CTA buttons that calls some APIs. Their AI, ML posturing are all marketing gimmicks. Doesn't work well. Since they costs $$$ many privacy pros are asking for cheaper alternatives which not many seems to be available. My ambition is to build a SaaS company that offers privacy app suite that is affordable and works much better. My action plan: 1. Complete FIP (fellowship in Privacy from Iapp) n become an influencer. Am already networking with privacy pros. 2. I am learning Bubble development now I know 1 is tough and 2 nd may be even tougher.. but this is my 2024 goals. I may fail but I need to give it a try To build a SaaS business in a niche domain, what would you recommend I do? How would you do it.

Hey peeps, do you guys know of any consumer SaaS that went big without having a B2B angle in place? One example would be Splitwise (again not that big). Other apps like Netflix, Bumble, do have to bring supply of engaging content for consumption or partners for matchmaking respectively, so that's not pure consumer SaaS I feel every SaaS company that will go big will have a B2B angle associated with it. Let me know what you think?

I am from capital markets and consulting background with 11 yrs of experience. I have been tinkering on SaaS idea and business plan for last few years for a niche product useful for CFOs. The problem is, I have zero knowledge of Tech. Can you suggest the steps to build SaaS business or some resources (articles, videos, course) that can be useful for beginner like me.

I’ve had this idea for a SaaS since the last 2 years and I’ve been passively trying to build it into existence but no luck. I tried pitching the idea to few VCs and mentors, all of them seemed to validate it for potential. But again, these are people I know personally and unless they have their skin in the game, can’t take their praises to anything tangible in the absence of constructive criticism. Same case with friends who I talk to - everyone likes the idea, but doesn’t want to build it. The idea doesn’t seem interesting enough for them to consider building it even as a side project. Mostly I believe this is because the product targets an industry where there’s sufficient tech involved - yet very less techies who are building for the space. I’ve personally had experience tinkering with development, but haven’t built anything tangible to fruition ever from scratch. This idea has been around my whiteboard for over 2 years - seems like a super obvious idea for a much needed demand. Back then I thought someone would build it before me and kept seeking professionals for help, especially with no-code and AI code tools. Yet, nobody has seemed to move a needle and the space is largely under one monopoly (startup). I want to take it up as a challenge and build it on my own as a side project and see where it goes. Maybe if nobody has built it in 2 years, nobody probably will in the next year either. That’s good enough time for me to acquire my initial set of users. I badly want to build it bootstrapped, but I know that’s a far fetched dream especially given my lack of technical expertise. Hopefully within 6 months, I should have an MVP - that might attract potential cofounders or investors. Wish me luck, folks! 🤞🏽

SaaS founders, when you join a startup for a mid to senior level role, and talk about your side SaaS project, what sort and extent of BGV would be done on your business/SaaS product?

Last 3 years of startups have been all about SaaS. I just don't get it. So far, it was about solving real problems at scale. First with consumer websites (google etc), then software, then shopping & delivery (amazon swiggy zomato fk etc etc) And now, it's all SaaS: - Imma build a startup to help white businessmen in America do better billing - Imma build a 360 degree feedback tool specifically for Norwegian miners - Imma build a SaaS software to help HR people note down who isn't dressed properly - Imma build a software to help hillbillies in the US better manage their trucking company Like how are smart people in India taking up entrepreneurship to build these ideas that are dull and feel like the end of life? How does anybody become excited by this? is it just money? what am I missing?

Have a fully functional product and have 20 paying customers. What will it take me to raise a first round of 1 to 2 mn.
