HR is is trying to lowball me into accepting an offer at my current compensation stating market conditions. I don’t have any other offers yet. What can be done here? 🥲

I want you to remember this day. Remember it for the rest of your life , how HR's exploit people and next time when tables turn you give them the same treatment.
And ignore those people who say there is a defined budget, HR's always mention you 20% lower salary than the budget.
Regarding your question,
Thing is I joined my current startup just 7 months back and it is about to shut down. I came to this startup from previous company at same pay expecting esops and growth but didn’t work. If I go at same pay now, essentially for 3 years i will be earning same money 🥲. Will interview aggressively in next month and see if I can counter them
Accept the role, market will go to shit in 2024
