Sales to IT Transition Advice

Hi! I am a 2019 CS passout and after engineering worked in my family business in mechanical sector as a sales executive. I am no longer interested in this field and thinking to shift to IT by relearning MERN.

1)Currently i am 27 YO so is it too late to join IT as most people of my age are senior devs/tech leads? 2)Will IT industry(startups/MNCs) accept me with no prior experience in dev as compared to recent passouts?

If you’ll could advise me it would be of great help.

I might get hate for this anyway i am going ahead There was supply demand for IT guys couple of years back, now there is huge supply but very less demand
My thought is like IT people made money and everyone wants to work in IT. There will less supply in terms of mechanical, civil and huge demand for those folks which might couple of years
So take call accordingly

You’re absolutely right. It has already started, in particular mech sector i have seen a candidate switch between competitors multiple times in a year due to lack of supply.
But i am not liking the work hence the question.

If you have already made a decision. Go ahead. Why are seeking validation from random people from internet

Yes, have heard about the ongoing recession. Have you learned through self study or through other means like bootcamp?
Even experienced people are not getting calls so for first timers it definitely is difficult, all we can do is try.
