Savings break-down

I've completed 1 year in my first job. I've tried saving and investing some money, help me decide what I can do better: Income: 22LPA PPF: 3 Lakh EPF: 2 Lakh MF: 5 Lakh Saving Account: 4.5 Lakh Income for new FY post increment: 29LPA I did these savings based on some advice from my elder brother. I'd like to spend more this year though, with some travel and going out more, maybe even purchase a scooty/bike and a PS5 😁 - would these expenses be justified? Apart from improving my savings & investments and still being able to afford a few luxuries, I want to know if I should get any of these: - Health Insurance - Only 5 Lakh cover from company for me and my parents (note - parents are getting old) - Life Insurance - Do we really need it, I'm still 24?

Me and my wife are 30 years old software engineer with no kids. Draw 7 lac a month please some yearly bonus. We invest 2 lac a month combined into equity market through mutual funds. Expenses: 1.5 lac a month including everything, lives in Bangalore in good society, owns a car, don't thing much before spending. Still after everything left with 3 lakhs every month in bank account. Not sure how to use that. We both don't have any fancy "shauk" where we can spend and hence don't have an urge to earn more. Any suggestions???

Where do you all save emergency funds and other savings for short term needs. Let's say if you wanna save some amount of your salary and don't want it in a bank, where would you put that money so it gets better returns than bank and it can be easily liquidated. Please suggest where you would put it and how much returns you may expect.

Currently most of my emergency fund is in FDs. Was planning on storing in multiple options. FDs are not even beating inflation these days. Have seen people keeping multiple tranches of emergency funds. combination of Multiple FDs in different banks, some in Liquid funds and some in bank account. What’s working for you? Need more insights on this?

Hi folks, We, as a family of two, roughly save 50-60% of our salaries every month. Amongst the savings, 95% goes to equity mutual funds (index). We don’t have any other hard asset and stay on rent in a tier 1 Indian city hardly without any EMI and planning to expand the family soon. I was wondering, 1. how are we doing in terms of personal finance, and, 2. what are the typical savings rate and equity (or other asset) investment allocation rate for others?

Hey folks, I'm a recent graduate, got a job at a startup and the base will be <15, >10. Shifted to Bangalore (more like returning after 6 years, lived for 4 years before that). Since I'll be starting my full time journey soon, I want to know how you guys split your take home salary into needs, wants, luxury, savings, investing etc. Currently, I'm in a rented flat in HSR (my split is 7k) and will rent out/buy some home appliances. Food would be around 10k a month (no maid, all outside). I just want to know your experiences on spending and handling money. Not that I'm bad at it, but this is the start of my journey and I would like to know how other people manage their money, so I'd know if I have to tweak some things. Do tell any strict DOs/DONTs, common mistakes.

I grew up in a family which used to be just above poverty line. My mom had worked a lot to provide making 7K a month. I now have a job that pays 15lpa. Other than good food on table I'm not sure what i should do with the money. I save everything left after removing house expenses Which is 75% of my income. I know saving is good but i don't want endup saving a huge pile and dying without using any of it.i want to exprfi6good things. How did you guys spend when you tried to raise from almost poor to a decent standard of living

Hello community, Need help in the decision-making of the money that I have in my bank. Currently, I have around 13lakhs in my bank account. I dont know what to do with that money. I have lump sum of 3.6 lakhs in my savings account. Pls suggest where to invest it. I am thinking of 50% of lump sum invest in FD and 50% of lump sum in liquid funds.

What is the biggest expense, how much do you save and how much do you invest
