Short term investments

Where do you all save emergency funds and other savings for short term needs. Let's say if you wanna save some amount of your salary and don't want it in a bank, where would you put that money so it gets better returns than bank and it can be easily liquidated. Please suggest where you would put it and how much returns you may expect.

Don't mix ease of ready access for emergency funds with returns. They are incompatible.

Keep them wherever you can get them quickly.

FD. If not, then an arbitrage fund.

Partly in mutual funds and partly in FD. Outsource your money management activities if it is not your forte and/or you don’t have the time for it.
