Should I switch from data to backend

Hey everyone, happy to answer any questions around Data Science/ML/AI and making a career within it A brief about me, I work currently as a Sr. ML Engineer at an Indian unicorn startup I graduated 5+ years ago and have since worked as a Data Scientist / ML Engineer at an ecommerce company and social media company. My designations have changed based on the industry requirements and work too changed based on that. Would love to take questions on what it means to be an ML Engineer, my early learnings from a career in data science, and thoughts on AI. Look forward to all questions :)

23 grad,got placed as associate data scientist at tredence analytics at 12lpa How is data engineering/science as a career and how easy is it to shift to sde backend roles after 1 year,had one more offer of sde at 8lpa but rejected that as it was from a small startup so risk.of.layoffs

I am a 2023 cse grad ,i have 2 offers ,which one should I join 1) tredence analytics, associate data scientist CTC:12l Base :7.44,var:56k, joining bonus given after 1year :2l, performance bonus:2l given after 1.5years 2)Tejas networks:R&D sde CTC:10l Base:9.7l ,var:30k I am open to both development and data roles, whichever offers more growth and opportunities in future as both the the packages are similar with minute difference

Recently I got intern+FTE (40k+12lpa) in a startup as data analyst. I would like to know the future prospects in the data field. I like to do coding or be on technical side. Or do I try to shift in SDE role ASAP.

Hey folks , i am in my 2nd year btech ( CS ) mumbai , and i am confused between data engineering and backend engineering, i love python , know linux and basic knowledge of cloud . What should i choose and what should my further path.

I joined industry as a front-end engineer back in April, 2022 and now i am feeling like expanding my horizon of skills and start doing backend. Also, I am hearing it from people that there is not much growth in FE in terms of compensation. So, curious to know the views of people here and would be great if someone can guide through. Is there any one who has done a mid career transition to data/tech? I have been part of edtechs most of my career, have learnt backend, cloud and data analysis on the job. I am now quite done with edtech in general and want to do something different. I am facing issues in getting my resume shortlisted for data roles. Any one has any suggestions?

Hey folks, I am a senior software engineer at Swiggy working in as a mobile engineer for the past 5 years. I have worked on few backend & infra stack in past companies (node js, go-lang, kubernetes, s3, etc) just for exploring and expanding my horizon. I am thinking of seriously perusing this now. What are my options here? I am open to learning via online course / my own side projects. Also how to approach for hiring given it won’t be my expertise but I am willing to be hired at a lower package for the long term benefits. Reason to consider a transition is boredom with working in a single domain.
